In the run up to Lynnfield's launch, we ran a special competition with Asus. Winners had the chance to come to London, overclcock Lynnfield, talk to the Asus team, and best of all, take the hardware home. Read on for our report and check out video from the day!

a real eye opener to the hard work that goes into these boards

thanks to Asus and Bittech/CPC, had a great time.

im amazed at how much effort has been putting it together, the planning was perfect in every sense.

Man, I can't believe people didn't go - but hey I guess that's what you get when it's a UK BASED ONLY comp. Now if it had been open to the EU, I would be knocking on your door the second you hit 'send'.

@ Asus - please invite us next time - we behave!!!!! BTW wasn't it swedes that just won the big M*I Master Overclocking Arena. . . .hmmmmmm

 

It wasn't UK only - it was open to a selection of EU countries, and we had two overseas winners, from Holland and France.

 

It really was awesome, maybe it's the alcoholic in me but I wish I had a glass of wine or pint at the lunch.

Really nice day, the discussions at the pub were really interesting as well !

i5-750 and P7P55D are still in their boxes, sadly, not enough time to put it to its paces, and the main problem being I don't have a compatible case to put them in (not enough PCI bays to be able to put the graphics card in )

Nice video/filming as well, I got some nice screen time along with Xtrafresh, with our "extreme custom cooling" idea.

I have to say the way i look at the design of a board has really altered since speaking to the guys

The whole thing was brilliant and those that chose not to reply missed out bigtime. It's impossible to heap enough thanks on everyone involved.

Also I have decided I need a new case or modify mine cos I need to be able to see that P7P55D board, it just looks wow.

 

awww man, all these people who picked the board and they cant even use it

 

im using it! on stock cooling, but still just managed to have a stable 3.5Ghz overclock with full turbo mode (up to 4.1Ghz). a bit disappointed anything higher, have to disable turbo mode (or get better cooling and use crazy voltages)

really sorry you missed out on the p55 by one place.


i believe the next issue of CPC should be the end of this month, something like 28th.

so, that's Bit-tech/CPC's office record in Grid SF short circuit?

 

1) Was there actually Cheesecake?
2) Who attended from CPC/bit-tech? I spot Clive, Harry and Alex in the pics - anyone else there?
3) Perhaps you want to do a named version of the final pic? I'm sure some people would like to know who's who. (Forum names I mean, not AFK names)
