Saturday, the 26th of January is Australia Day!! You too can celebrate in style with snags on the barbie, a cold beer and covered in aeroguard to keep the mozzies at bay. *hands out lamingtons with minature aussie flags on them* I'd love it if our friends across the pond joined in too, it's an excuse for a beer if nothing else. Happy Australia Day! How will YOU celebrate?
barbie? cold beer? mozzies? It's the deepest depths of winter for some of us, dear Myst. Us in the northern hemisphere won't see sunlight again until May. For us Brits we'll be lucky if it's not the only weekend a year the heavens don't open. I'm not sure if most will be coming up from Hibernation and venturing outside until at least April either. Have a good'un though.
Best thing about my birthday is what every day of the week it falls i can always find a bar fully populated. (Its Saturday for those not following)
I'll celebrate by putting on five layers of warm clothing, sitting on the sandbags and dangling my feet in the flood water and calling the neighbours “flamin’ galahs” it’ll be like I’m on Bondi Beach! Seriously, happy Australia Day, hope it rains.

As an American, if I was a tourist, I would ignore the warning signs and swim with the crocs to help celebrate - just as so many of my departed, fellow countrymen have done in the past.
Heh, and if Saturday being my 21st wasn't a good enough excuse to drink vast quantities of alcohol, I now have a backup excuse

Yeah, I was gonna put that in as well, cos it creased me up, but couldn't make it look right. I thought it was funny cos they made it sound like fire didn't kill anyone else!
OMFG! are you me? We were doing an experiment in Chemistry and had to light the bunsen with these matches, I don't think I got too much done, I was laughing so much at the match box, I nicked it and just found it again when looking at your avatar. I would have thought being an A level chemistry student I would be more mature, evidently not. Best matchbox ever, luckily I'm not a child so felt safe around the fire.
