Paying several hundred pounds for a BF2 server isn't exactly the best idea considering no one here has shown any drive to get something organised, and no one's even played together so far, as far as I know.

Exactley...but the best way to get to play together is a server (it dosent even have to be ranked...) because the thing with meeting on a server via Xfire didnt work...2 or 3 people posted their names :grr: or we'll have to give it another try!

    Hi,

If you're looking for more people I'm up for joining. I used to play BF:V in a clan for some time but haven't joined a BF:2 clan yet. I'm an excellent pilot (Both choppers and airplanes) and I'm not a bad squad leader/Commander either.

Might be interested in this, where abouts do most of you play? We should start invading a few publics as squads. For those of you on irc, mebbe sommit like #bit-tech.bf2 to organise stuff and work out what the score is? :)

    Boo ...

Just getting into BF2 and loving it .. only doing demo at the mo but full game coming this weekend so will be on-line.

so honing skills as chopper pilot (can't get the hang of plane's yet)

Plus love it as Special forces and support. :worried:

also will be first on-line gaming experience ! <cherry popping>

I'd be in for joining a Bit clan... I suggest though, we first get together on teamspeak. Teamspeak would give us a chance to see who all is interested, before getting a server.

I'm a good pilot (mainly transport chopper, but good fighter pilot as well), very good medic, good spec ops, good assault, and very good commander. I do typically use a few different weapons per round, but my main ones are listed above.

I'm up for it :) Mostly a Medic and Anti-Tank, also specialising in gunships (whether it's piloting or gunning). I don't mind flying Blackhawks but I need good gunners telling me when to rotate etc. I don't do jets though, haven't practised enough yet :p but I'm pretty good at being the bomber.

I've started properly playing BF2 and am getting good at it, so are there still any plans to make a BT clan or something?

If you know an ip of a good server with all the good maps in the cycle post it please! (best would prob. be if you did this in a new thread so everybody will notice it :thumb: )

Maybe it would be a good idea for everybody to meet on a server and see how everyone plays before getting a server and a clan.

I think that would be a good idea, perhaps we can pick an empty server to use and all log onto that. The problem with creating our own home server is bandwidth, we need 2.5mbps throughput for every 16 players. Who has a 2.5mbps upstream throughput at home, nobody...

Unless someone is able to set up their own server at uni with all that bandwidth and no port blocking?
