    Stephen Fry

    Steve Coogan

it could be worse they could bring back Noel Edmonds

But lets be honest Top Gear only succeeds due to its current hosts.

Laters Top Gear. You had a good run.

I can only hope the beeb starts a completely new motoring show with a completely different tone.

I think my dream team would be Chris Harris, Tanner Foust and Matt Farah. The practical/logical/sensible, keen/trained/competitive, and playful/amusing/passionate respectively. Not sure it would make for good viewing in honesty, but I've seen them all excel in their own right.

    Well that is good.

I am curious where the telegraph got their information, As until that article I had not seen much about the details let alone a 20 min verbal followed by a 30 sec physical attack, over not getting steak and chips.

then again I have largely not looked at most of the articles and stories about the incident since it happened

So is this the newspaper reporting he's already sacked.

30 second physical assault on the producer, even though the producer has apparently said there was no physical assault.

If that article is complete dog turd then The Telegraph should either be shut down or fined a ridiculous amount. And Martin Evans the author of the article should be taken out infront of his family and shot! :D :D :D

News Papers lie and twist things all the time.
Why are you all surprised by this?

Interesting that the BBC article you have linked.

Claims that clarkson reported himself and that the producer was not the one who started the proceedings.

Understandable - there has been an awful lot of crap flying around. That Telegraph report is just the very latest example. They won't mind - BS stories boosting circulation are nothing new to the newspaper industry. You'd think it would hurt their credibility but, given the crap uncovered about the print media's practises over recent years, they just about get away with anything.

So much speculation/gossip going round in the news its ridiculous at the moment about everything.

Theres been no comfirmation of anything for all we know he might not have even punched the bloke. Its ridiculous that now a days you can be accused of something by the media with yet to no evidence, so much for innocent until proven guilty.

Well at least they made a decision.
At least the media circus will stop now...

    ...oh wait, no it wont.
They will speculate on who will replace him? Will Hammond & May stay on? Where will he end up? Will BBC cancel Top Gear as a whole? Will they air the remaining episodes? etc. etc.

    That's Top Gear finished then.

The three of them will turn up on Sky.

    Beaten to it!

My questions were more rhetorical examples of the rubbish that will be speculated on in the Media, but it is nice that some extra info was covered in the press-release (other than JC being sacked..)

He hasn't been sacked... They've elected not to renew his contract, there is a whole heap of minor but important reasons as to why they're not the same thing...
