waiting for it. well I'll migrate my design to my design thread. just realised that I ruined almost 2 pages of this rendering thread : ) .... silly french dude
AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH 5 hours later, haven't had a render that took this long for months, damn dof. now i'm off to play some tf2 and then it's time to do some post work on it.
I'm currently working on a full house, including framework, isolation, etc, etc.. in full detail. In addition I'm working on modelling the whole interior like desks, cabinets, chairs, sofas, etc, etc... aswell in full detail. I don't wanna know how long it takes to do the final renders there But why?, you might ask. Well... because I bought an old house which is now paid off and I'm planning to build a complete new one on that flat ofcourse, something that I can live in for the rest of my life... and I want to build as much as possible on my own as I've got nothing better to do with my spare-time. Just to give you a teaser.... Nothing fancy in design, just a 140m² ecologic passive-house that only needs some 6m³ of wood per year to heat, etc...
Do not tell me you are going to build a wooden house ... cause I'd be very jealeous . This is my dream, but field cost arms, legs, ligger, lunges not too far from my job (1h with train and subway) ... 200m² field for over 300K € (with no house in it). But this is my dream, a house made of wood with a vegetal roof. Nice job so far on your modeling . I'll follow that, trust me
I've got a flat measuring 2000m² with an old wooden house at the moment, which I'm going to replace by a new one. And yeah, wood is the only real ecological material to build a house from.
Wooden houses have great acoustic properties you know. Can you see those lovely full range horn speakers and their mono block valve amp . This is the project of a life and I wish you all the best. I'm looking forward to it. Do you used some books / website to help designing / building wooden house ? Are you going to use solar panels, heat pump, etc. (because that's what I'd like to do ... if I can afford doing it). I'm glad I'm not the only ecological concerned people around here ... I can't do a lot for the planet at my scale, but maybe my children will learn from this and to the same later. Good luck to you matey , may the relix help you in this project.
Looks very nice though! If you're fed up with intense rendertimes you could do the dof in post with a z-depth-pass
Thanks ! I usually use a zdepth pass, but it doesnt work well when you have lots of reflections and refractions.
That's a cool looking planet so far. Is it a Tiny Planet or a Gigantic Tree Planet? I'm interested to see more. Also the render of the indoor pool is very well done. I'm working on some stuff that I can maybe share in the next couple of weeks. I'm in the middle of an after effects class at the moment.
Guille, the final version will be of higher resolution, better for a wallpaper ^^ Tangster, thanks! how do you mean, is it too dark ? microsoftPerson, thanks it's just a very small planet
No, it looks as if you can see the ocean floor through the water, which strikes me as unrealistic(which wouldn't matter if the rest of the mini-planet was so darn good). Not sure if it's easy to fix. Also, please share the wallpaper with us plebs.
Besides the wrong colours in the flag it's awesome Could you rerender it with these colours? :::::::::::::: :::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::
Very cool update to the planet render. Can I ask you guys a question? I am modeling a cube and I want to make a good texture for it. It is not a repeating texture though and I'm wondering how do I determine the proper dimensions for creating the external texture file. Perhaps I can explain better. I know that, for instance, the box is 20" wide, 10" tall, and 10" deep so I know that if I had a texture wrap around the box it would need to be 60" wide by 10" tall . . . only this would not cover the top or the bottom of the box which I also need to do. Sorry if this question is dumb, I've only been at this for a while and usually have used repeatable patterns for bump maps and the like so have not run into this problem before. *edit* it seems that the texture is just replicated on each side. Also it's not too hard to apply different textures to each surface. I will probably just make a different texture file for each surface. If anybody has a good guide for this sort of thing I would be interested. I still don't really get how you would make a texture for an irregular shaped object outside of using z-brush or bodypaint.
