Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha *breathes* hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ...oh Ferrari... EDIT: yeah... mentally, vettel has packed up and gone home... i'll be surprised if he sticks around for next year.
I've never thought of him as a world class driver, those 4 world titles were all car in my eyes. Drivers like Alonso, Ricardo and Hamilton could drive the wheels off anything. I kinda like the guy off track now though. I do think he should bow out now though and not do a Schumacher and end his career looking a bit crap.
Schumacher had already reached a point where it didn't matter what he did, he had already established himself, it's easy to ignore his later years. Vettel isn't going anywhere (even though he definitely should), he doesn't have anywhere to go. At least he's aware he'd have nowhere to go if he left Ferrari (unlike Alonso, who burnt pretty much every bridge he crossed).
Gotta smart too being out-qualified by your b-team [alfa romeo/raikkonen] and your customer team [haas/grosjean]
How can Lance Stroll be so **** all the time and then do THAT when it's raining? See also Italy 2017 when he qualified 4th in the rain. Dani Kvyat surely back in a Red Bull sooner rather than later. Honda must be very, very happy with how this year has gone so far. Lewis has had his 'bad' race of the year, no doubt he'll lap everyone next weekend at Hungary...
Weather prediction for Friday next week at Mogyorod is to rain, Sat and Sun still have some minor chance to have rain. So who knows, lightning might strike twice.
What the actual everloving **** was that Mercedes? You look like you've never done a pit stop before.
Like when Glock got 2nd in Malaysia 2009. (ironically the big loser back then was Raikkonen who got f**ked hard by pitstops back then just like today)
...like when Crashtor won. Also if hockenheim keeps its place on the calendar I reckon they'll make them do something about T16/T17 where everyone went off. Not only were merc having a howler of a race everyone seemed intend on trashing their advertising boards by crashing into them.
Mercedes were so unlucky with that, no tires ready, no nose ready, then a mid-stop change of mind on the tires... i felt Hamilton was VERY unlucky to get a penalty for driving the wrong side of the Bollard though, any action he took was dangerous he could Drive a lap on the circuit, with half his nose missing, potentially having the rest of his nose coming off drive the WRONG WAY down the track to go round the bollard, this would be Suicidally dangerous imo or take the course of action he did
To quote DC - 'what a load of bollards'. Whislt that race has perked Vettel up i still think his days are numbered. Gasly probably won't survive the summer break. Whether Kvyat or Albon takes his place remains to be seen. Bottas... hmm... he's hardly covered himself in glory, Wolff was already cagey about whether merc were going to keep him on.
Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date Technical Infringements for Alfa mean the both get 30s penalties and as a consequence dumped out of the points. So Williams and Kubica now have a point and Hamilton gets a consolation brace.
I think that depends on his final placing in the season. If he's anywhere else than 2nd Ocon will replace him, if he mops up 2nd Merc will keep to avoid the risk of another Hamilton/Rosberg situation.
Did I actually watch that race, or did I dream it...? Best thing that many of the teams will want to do is wake up tomorrow & pray THEY dreamt it, too...
Oh, and I think Gunther Steiner will be reading the riot act to both the Haas drivers, again rumour is at least one of them may not survive the year.
