Mick is currently under contract to Alpine for WEC and Mercedes as test/reserve driver. Vasseur would probably get in the car himself before Mick.
Schwartzman I guess would have been the alternative as he is a Ferrari test driver so would know the car etc, but with him being partially russian.... well, politics and all that.
Well Race 1 of the MotoGP was much more interesting. 1st to 3rd separated by 0.73 seconds, 1st to 8th within 4.5 seconds. I know which series I'll be making time to watch this year, Race 2 tomorrow
Spoiler: Spoiler Spoiler: No really, spoiler. Can we have Max's brakes explode every weekend please? What must Ferrari be thinking, the guy who's taken their last two wins, the one who's proving absolutely flawless under pressure, is the one they fired before the season even started. Meanwhile Lewis is starting look absolutely lost, todays engine failure was a mercy for him.
Can someone explain Alonso's penalty to me? Russell crashes and Alonso gets punished for leaving the scene of an accident I assume?? Is this the new "It's Ericssons fault?"
they're claiming he did a brake check which caused the accident which looking at the data seems correct.
Spoiler: Nando Fandango In the last couple of laps Nando was slowing down in the middle of the corners to mess with Russell's corner exit and defend his position. He overdid it and Russell crashed trying to avoid rear ending him. It's a valid tactic but Nando obviously crossed the line from blocking into brake testing in the stewards eyes. For his part Nando's unrepentant but the onboard from Russell is pretty clear.
Fans - Verstappen DNF, that means we get a good fight for the lead right? F1 - Fight for the lead? We don't do that here...

Here's hoping the ECC steps in and stops this like they did when CVC tried to buy Moto GP out in 2006...
