I have grandchildren. I've been worried for decades!
this is truly some funny ****! abit random to just send two probes to hit the bloody moon! seems like there doin it for the fun of it! LOL
Hate to point this out, but spelling/grammar nazi in me... demands it..
Shouldn't your username be lifesabitch... not livesabitch....
well in real terms yes but in my terms no! cause im living it!
... The internet just lost 40 IQ points.
Old guy history lesson:
One of the missions to the moon (yeah, if they happened) left some mirrors up there and our/we/NASA people bounced some laser beams off the mirrors.
"Frikkin Laser beams"
It appears the moon actually wobbles when hit by big asteroids. The lasers quiver and disperse.
Whack it good and do a spectrograph eval. Maybe find some cool stuff.
Small steps for mankind
I find that interesting, those mirrors are also used to check the distance from the earth to the moon! and the moon actualy moves about a centimetre away from earth every year or somin! remember it from the discovary channel!!! im addicted to it!
Sweet! I'm not the only one who watches channels without "Bindi will ban you pointy parts"
It does move away from the Earth. Maybe your great great great grandchildren will notice the change in the tide levels. They used to be significantly higher in the past.
this is turning into a great convo! glad were on the same page! i realy hope my great great great grandchildren will notice this cause its facinating to me!
didnt know the tides were higher in the past! but thinkin about it it must be true cause its the moon that creates high tides due to the gravity it pulls!!! derr LOL
Man, good comments on that MSNBC thread are a few and far between.
This reminds me of the Flat Earth Society, LOL!
Something like this they could watch through a telescope and then come up with a crazy crackpot theory on how it is some big conspiracy and not real and that it proves the Earth is flat somehow...
Honestly about the most intelligent thing I've heard on that website is:
"What if the Moon was actually a proponent of a God-like figure such as the giant turtles or Jebus. Would it still be a disk? Or maybe it could be more like a plate of rocks? Like a dish? Can turtles eat rocks even? I don't know if I believe in turtles.
Or maybe it could be like Earth's poncho. You know, for rain. Only it's off and put away like if you put your poncho in the closet. I know that I usually keep my poncho in my closet. My Poncho is named Juancho.
I mean, it doesn't HAVE to be spherical, does it? When it gets all shadowy, you know, like half moons and stuff, couldn't that just be because it's wearing a poncho of it's own sometimes? You know, because of rain?
So many questions."
So many peoples, so few IQ points!
whats goin on with yourcomputer???? thats far fetched!
Indeed they did. That was one of the final things the Mythbusters used to bust the whole "moon landing hoax" conspiracy.
The LCROSS mission is part of a combined lunar mission featuring a number of different experiments, including the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. For even more evidence of the Apollo landings, the LRO has given us these stunning views.
Ain't science wonderful?
What they're really trying to blow up.
They found Osama Binlid.
Na bush wasn't happy that in his presidency he didn't get to set off a big mother f**ker of a bomb, so he got NASA to blow some S*it up on the moon.
The time Machine - Exactly what I thought of too.
