I have a question about these qt110's, i plan to use them in my case project.. http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=54350 what value capacitor do i need so that i actually have to touch the spot and not just get close to it?
10nf should do. Sensitivity levels can also be set on the QT itself. BTW your casing is aluminium, so you'll have to isolate the sensing electrode from the chassis.
Hrmm, how would you set up one of these to power fans? also, a LED switch, do these come in a DPDT design? so when off, a red ring could be around metal plate, and when on it would power on the fans and turn my ring to blue. similar to my LED switching guide. but cooler. anyone have any thoughts?
you know i did do this mod about a year ago. All I did was rip out the prox sensor out of one of those stupid singing fish. Worked good, I just used a screen off of a sink to defuse the sensor some. That way you had to wave your hand like an inch from the sensor. I never could find an english site to order the sensors from. JEEVES
