I have heard recently the scan has gotten a bit tight with RMA if you do not buy Scan sure. Reading elsewhere on BIT that people have sent back DOA items to be told no Scan sure no deal. sorry can't find the post ATM. My experience for scan(before the sold scan-sure and Ebuyer.com have been great. explained my issues RMA and return pick up paid for.
I don't know if this is the norm but I spent £50 at ocuk and needed to send a copy of my bank statement and passport. It wasn't a scam aswell as I rang them up and checked.
I only shop with scan as theyre the best in the biz, theyre 15 mins from my house, and Jamie at the help desk always helps to fill me in if needed. If scan dont have it, I try special tech. So far I havent needed to go anywhere else. Except B&Q LOL
I have only ever had excellent service from OCUK and some great guys run the customer service threads now. Scan - or should I say Scam on the other hand - who close threads and wont let people discuss their RMA nightmare "service". I wont go into it again here. Scan = Great prices but crap service - they will lie and cheat on the RMA as they did to me and then suggest you should have taken scansure. Ebuyer and Dabs seem fine as well. LP
I suppose this subject is a bit off "swings and roundabouts"...had a bad experience with Scan some time ago, so wouldn't buy again from them as one of the managers was speaking when he should have been listening, also their delivery price for me (I live in NI) are far too high, on ther otherhand, I get free delivery with OcUK and not had any bad experiences with them...
Yeh, it only added a week to the delivery time I could of understood it if I was placing a massive order but it was only a set if ram. Tbh, I never thought to ask why
Unless you've got past money problems with them i'd of told them to walk away quickly.. Not there business...
Mummy, im scared.... Scan are very good for selling stuff, just that returning them is a bit of an issue... Apparently they dont want broken stuff back! funny that?
Many years ago I had an issue with Scan (their picking/delivery system sucked), but since they overhauled it all I've had nothing but good experiences. DPD are an awesome delivery company as well. I've never had to RMA anything yet though, so we'll see how that goes.
I have to admit on the Scan front I was very worried when they implemented Scan sure. I've managed to go ten years without snapping anything when trying to install but I can see why someone might want it. I've not had to return anything yet since everything I've bought since they brought it out has been fine but if I do get something that's DOA or faulty and they tell me I should've bought ScanSure it's getting stuck right up their arse!
