ok, so here's what i am planning... getting a mATX or mini ITX board. and i need a case that will fit the following requirements: fit the following components corsair HX850 psu corsair H80i cooler MSI 660ti card ssd hdd x2 it must have removable fan filters (this is a must) require NO MODDING to get everything to fit. the smaller the case, the better. my price range is around $150. not planning on water cooling. so whatcha think?
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cases/ Take your pick really- there are plenty of cases available to suit your needs, it's very much a personal taste issue ( the reviews will tell you which are the best value and produce the best temps too ). It's worth researching yourself though- this is a UK forum so what we can get vs what you can get will be a deciding factor, as will price differences..
has no filters. as far as the reviews, i know it's a UK site. If there were a US site that wasnt worthless, i'd be looking there. i've gone over the reviews, and the problem, how i see it, is that all the cases that would fit my needs are just too damn big (mid-towers). as far as availability goes, as long as the internet is up, i think i can get anything.
As I have the case myself I can say that it has filters for all the intakes in the front and the bottom. The "blowholes" in the top and the back don't need filters as dust won't get inthere due to the air being blown out there.
it does look like a good case. on all the sites i looked at, including fractal's site, it only mentioned the bottom filter, not the front. do you like the case?
I've an R4, which also has filters in place, which I understand to be very similar to the mini. It's a great case, IMHO. Very pleased.
The front has filters aswell, just look at this picture from the official site... It has a very fine mesh-filter for both of the front 120mm fans included. The bottom is a large single piece which you can slide in and out from the rear of the case. And sure, I'm absolutely happy with the case and the first one I didn't modify actually but use it as it is.
Nice case aswell, but I don't really like the top-down orientation of the motherboard, as the GPU will be more difficult to cool and GPUs are the real heat-sources of modern PCs.
If you don't mind possibly having to cut part of the tray wall out I'd recommend the BitFenix Prodigy. Mine has an HX750 PSU in there which fits, but the cables ended up being the only problem which was solved with a dremel.
A regular optical drive and psu wont fit. I am making this system to replace a silverstone ft02. I love the case and the company, but on their smaller cases they obviously want you to use their smaller psu.
Silverstone Temjin Evolotion tj08-E ?? removable dust filters - check full size PSU - check standard Optical Drive - check ive not long finished a build in said case, awesome case to work with tbh
Although it says full size psu, it is limited to 180mm max. i know my specs sound easy, but its been hell to find something to meet them.
The Silverstone PS07 isn't the case you're thinking of aparently -> http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=314&area=en Fits all your components pretty well, including PSU of up to 180mm and it has two 5.1/4" bays.
