Wow, this must be like the 5th game in as many days that has had a 2010 release date pushed to early 2011.

Looks like 2011 is going to be a very similar year to 2010, with most great games coming out earlier in the year as opposed to the traditional holiday season.

Sounds like what happened was, that management had wishful thinking for the finish times, then they realised that it wasn't going to happen when all the devs are turning into office zombies from all the overtime.

Could we be seeing developers running from Call of Duty: Black Ops?

Oh well, a few months' wait won't kill me. God knows I've been waiting for Aliens: Colonial Marines for longer.

Indeed, was looking forward to this, if only to see how well it compares visually to the original. Mafia II will keep me going until this comes out, hopefully. If that's not delayed again.

I still haven't played the first one, which I only bought because of those damned Steam sales.

I don't really think it's gonna be anything special, at least not in terms of graphics, not like the first one was. It will probably look nice but we won't be saying 'but can it play Crysis 2' and the original will still more than likely push your hardware further. As for plot/story/gameplay, well we all know Crytek's track record.

    +rep for that!

i'd say it's a very smart move. Halo:reach and black ops are two of the biggest titles for later this year. Not to mention EA's own shooters such as MOH and the bad company 2 expansion.

I agree. So with graphics that won't be pushing current or even older PC hardware and a non existent plot/story... What exactly are we all waiting for?

I'm not excited about Crysis 2, but I hope this is a sign that EA has decided to start giving devs the time the need to develop the game. The whole reason why CnC4 exists the way it does is because EA gave EALA a puny amount of time to develop their next game, so the devs took a concept that they had been just screwing with, and threw a name/made a few cutscenes and missions for it.

EA deadlines have made games worse/bad in the past, so perhaps them giving devs more time is a sign of change for the better.

hopefully Dx11 is the reason for the delay.

Cry-Engine should push PC hardware, if it doesn't, it's a fail on CryTek.

(ops, had this posted on Fable 3 delay thread)

the multiplatform announcement killed about 70% of my interest off the bat. what gameplay mechanics have been butchered to cater for little timmy and his joypad? who knows.

i just hope they are taking advice from valve on how to do multiplatform releases.

My guess is that they didn't want to compete with the rest of the big holiday releases.
