Space marines have always been small, however the oposition is never as small. Kill team is fine for a small game, 40k is about the big battles space marines are either rock hard or get knocked off pretty quick depending which BL book you read. Only a few 40k races are ment to be small most are ment to be massive- the first DOW linked into that, DOW2 is just kill team repackaged everytime and a more expensive price that is pointless to pay pick the game up on a steam sale.
Space Marine's work in teams of 5-10... look at the Deathwatch of the Ordo Xeno's. An entire Ork battleship taken down by six Space Marines, well pretty much anyway. DOW2 was good in my eyes, I liked the idea of it... sure it's not a standard RTS and I can't float around the map steamrolling people with 6 Dreadnoughts and 20 teams of 9 Space Marines and a Sgt all with plasma based weapons and full upgraded everything.... that was fun. If they bring a game out in the next few years I think they should have it based and focused on the Imperial Guard, or maybe Horus Heresy era of compliance? That would be wicked... with special units being the legions of Astartes/Skitari/Titans.
DeathWatch are the elite of the elite which i doubt we will see in a game, dow needs to go back to what it first was, which made it great.
Umm not all the time. There have been 20 year serving Astartes on the Deathwatch aswell as 500 year. Okay, The Imperial Fists... held a fort with a Terminator and 12 scouts...
Cant beleive this is the first time I have been made aware of this update! Looks awsome Still waiting for dark millenium online!
