The good thing about stereotypes is when you can work them to your advantage... "me man, me do one thing at a time" to be honest as another cyclist I'd rather drivers didn't see me, at least then I have a rough idea where they're going, all my close calls have been from special needs drivers making last second panic reactions
Nope and why would I, I was asked to spot for the passes the white team made. When I'm at a junction in my car I'm not studying how many skips the girls opposite me does with her rope. I'm looking if it's clear to pull out or not and that includes motorbikes, cyclists, etc. *edit fixed typos* *and edit for the number of posts! Bill and Ted Cheesecake*
I wish people would take more time to look instead of just scanning for a split second for cars, I had a cab pull out in front of me once. I was going down a hill and the speedometer was showing 50kph. I saw the driver of the car look both ways but he pulled out anyway. He did see me at the last second and I was able to turn enough to just miss his front bumper.
Nope. Interesting illustration, though not quite a fair one. Makes the point, though. (semi off topic rant) There's a kid who bikes to school through my neighborhood. He rides in the oncoming lane around blind corners. Even when he can see me coming, he doesn't move. And then gives me a look like 'what're you doing there?' After a couple of close calls I went to the local school and told them what was going on. Since then, he's been on foot. Score one for involved teachers and parents! I've also developed an eagle eye for children on bicycles. Adults-sized bicyclists I don't see nearly as well (although one would hope that they're not quite as stupid).
13/no bear.. All it proves is cyclist shoulb be seen & if they dress like bears then theyre gonna look daft! In approx 1/2 million miles driven only ever one collision involving a cyclist (and that was 100% his fault). That garbage cost a fortune all wasted - I do sympathise with cyclists given how bad some car drivers are..
