q1: how old are you and what platforms do you play racing games on? 19 Mostly pc and some xbox360 q2: your racing a 3 lap race and come the last lap you're down in 5th, do you reset and try again or race on and take the flag? Race until the final straight and, if it's obvious i won't meet my aims restart as that's usually quicker than going through the finish screens to start again q3: do you like to tinker with your car under the bonnet and swap out parts or do you prefer to just pick a car and go? Depends on my mood but i always like at least some degree of tinkering q4: do you set the game to a difficulty that is challenging and run the risk of losing or do you prefer the safer option and set it down a notch. Difficulty is set so that i actually have to try to pass them and they have a chance of passing me back so long as i'm not blasting past them on the straight as i am magically faster i am happy q5: do you care about other drivers (human/ai) on the road and try not to make contact of do you bulldozer your way through them? If it's A.I. i tend to use them for helping with cornering and braking if the damage to me will be minimal. If they're human i try to avoid them q6: loads of people have played Grid if so how did you feel about the team management side of it (signing sponsors) did you like/dislike it? tell me why. Only got grid recently and have barely played it but that sounds like a good idea q7: car handling (this should be fun to assess) do you prefer a simplistic model or a realistic one? Realistic. GRId's handling annoys me though some day's i prefer the more forgiving handling in GT4 and Forza compared to the Race07 series handling but most of the time out and out realism. q8: do you prefer games like GTR/GT5 or do you prefer games like NFS/GRID GTR/GT5
q1: how old are you and what platforms do you play racing games on? 38 (I know getting on abit) - PC q2: your racing a 3 lap race and come the last lap you're down in 5th, do you reset and try again or race on and take the flag? Race on (unless I really screw up) q3: do you like to tinker with your car under the bonnet and swap out parts or do you prefer to just pick a car and go? Tinker q4: do you set the game to a difficulty that is challenging and run the risk of losing or do you prefer the safer option and set it down a notch. Set to Pro in GTR2 & GT Legends q5: do you care about other drivers (human/ai) on the road and try not to make contact of do you bulldozer your way through them? If it's a human player there are plenty of F***s flying around q6: loads of people have played Grid if so how did you feel about the team management side of it (signing sponsors) did you like/dislike it? tell me why. [BHaven't played Grid that much][/B] q7: car handling (this should be fun to assess) do you prefer a simplistic model or a realistic one? I play GT Legends and GTR2, so realistic simulation q8: do you prefer games like GTR/GT5 or do you prefer games like NFS/GRID see above, GT Legends is great in Multi player
q1: 33, PC now, PS2 in the past q2: Take the flag, unless it's like Grid and I was 20 seconds out in front, when all of a sudden the field has caught you battered you to pieces and left you limping home with three wheels, then I'd reset. But against real players? Take the flag everytime. q3: Gran Tourismo got the tinkering right, and the upgrades were right for NFS. Grid sometimes leaves me feeling like I could set the car up better, especially gear ratios. q4: I like a challenge, so as I find winning easier I increase the difficulty. Driver aids have an effect here too, so I start with a difficulty level where I don't need any aids and work my way up. q5: I treat the other drivers how they treat me. Race Driver 3 was really bad in this respect, in the first Formula BMW race you do, the AI drove like they were in touring cars. I agree pretty much with the other posters in that, GT and open wheels you tend to avoid contact, but touring cars and stock cars rubbing is racing. q6: It was novel, bot really what were you supposed to be a driver or a team manager? I pure management game would be great, but mixing and matching I'm not so sure about. q7: As realistic as possible, because when it gets to arcady it just isn't immersive or rewarding enough. q8: They both have thier place. Grid got the balance between the two just right. rFactor can be quite extreme making for a steep learning curve, and requiring constant practice to keep your hand in. Gran Tourismo was realistic without requiring the hours and hours of regular practice. I think all three are great driving games, but each has it's niche.
q1: how old are you and what platforms do you play racing games on? 16, PC q2: your racing a 3 lap race and come the last lap you're down in 5th, do you reset and try again or race on and take the flag? Race till the last corner q3: do you like to tinker with your car under the bonnet and swap out parts or do you prefer to just pick a car and go? Only tinker if it's an immediate and measurable improvement. ie adding nitrous or 'stage 3 engine tuning ' q4: do you set the game to a difficulty that is challenging and run the risk of losing or do you prefer the safer option and set it down a notch. challenging, though if I mess up a corner and crash (DiRT) I often just restart because I won't be able to win. q5: do you care about other drivers (human/ai) on the road and try not to make contact of do you bulldozer your way through them? If damage is on, I try not to make contact unless I know I can just flip them off the track with the slightest touch If damage is off, other racers make good brakes q6: loads of people have played Grid if so how did you feel about the team management side of it (signing sponsors) did you like/dislike it? tell me why. Quite liked. Would like a better variety of conditions of sponsorship. Stuff like 'complete 3000 laps on high difficulty' q7: car handling (this should be fun to assess) do you prefer a simplistic model or a realistic one? Realistic, but arcade is fun also. I can't drive an arcade game for 20 laps without stopping, I can with realistic games because I can improve on my previous times. q8: do you prefer games like GTR/GT5 or do you prefer games like NFS/GRID rFactor or DiRT2.
q1: how old are you and what platforms do you play racing games on? 25, PC with a 360 pad q2: your racing a 3 lap race and come the last lap you're down in 5th, do you reset and try again or race on and take the flag? Depends on requirements for that race. Usually restart. q3: do you like to tinker with your car under the bonnet and swap out parts or do you prefer to just pick a car and go? Tinker if its an option, but stock works for me. q4: do you set the game to a difficulty that is challenging and run the risk of losing or do you prefer the safer option and set it down a notch. Usually leave it on normal or default. q5: do you care about other drivers (human/ai) on the road and try not to make contact of do you bulldozer your way through them? Human friends, destroy. AI, destroy. Human Non-friends, play it clean q6: loads of people have played Grid if so how did you feel about the team management side of it (signing sponsors) did you like/dislike it? tell me why. The sponsors were ok. Just a little extra money really. The teammate was really only good for taking out other cars in the race. q7: car handling (this should be fun to assess) do you prefer a simplistic model or a realistic one? leaning towards simply realistic... q8: do you prefer games like GTR/GT5 or do you prefer games like NFS/GRID NFS/GRID
q1: I'm 17 and I usually play on the PS3/360, although the PC is pretty good either. q2: I'll race on until the last moment, but usually I'll restart if I'm really far behind. q3: I love swapping parts out, of course configuring them right is something that I'm not good with but I try. q4: Challenging on racing games unless of course I really can't do it. q5: I try to avoid them, I like my car intact, plus I feel better after a race knowing that there was no dirty racing involved. q6: I'm okay with the team sponsring thing, although it wasn't something taht really bothered me too much. q7: Realisitc, I love knowing the difference between each car and then driving to accomodate it, who wants a simple system? I mean where's the fun if both the Mustang GT500 and the F40 handle the same? q8: GT5/GTR. Wish you would've added in Forza TBH.
q1: how old are you and what platforms do you play racing games on? Im 14, and i play racing games on xbox360 and PC. q2: your racing a 3 lap race and come the last lap you're down in 5th, do you reset and try again or race on and take the flag? I reset if im 2nd on the first lap >< q3: do you like to tinker with your car under the bonnet and swap out parts or do you prefer to just pick a car and go? I tinker and buy new parts to make it better q4: do you set the game to a difficulty that is challenging and run the risk of losing or do you prefer the safer option and set it down a notch. I usually play on normal. q5: do you care about other drivers (human/ai) on the road and try not to make contact of do you bulldozer your way through them? Try not to make contact, i usually spin out when i bulldoze them. q6: loads of people have played Grid if so how did you feel about the team management side of it (signing sponsors) did you like/dislike it? tell me why. I like it, makes you more money q7: car handling (this should be fun to assess) do you prefer a simplistic model or a realistic one? Realistic q8: do you prefer games like GTR/GT5 or do you prefer games like NFS/GRID NFS, Grid, etc.
q1: how old are you and what platforms do you play racing games on? 29 years old, PC and PS2 q2: your racing a 3 lap race and come the last lap you're down in 5th, do you reset and try again or race on and take the flag? Take the flag q3: do you like to tinker with your car under the bonnet and swap out parts or do you prefer to just pick a car and go? Tinker, on GT3 I spent weeks shaving off over 1 second on a 0-1000m trial for my best Nissan GTR by purely playing with camber, ride and gear ratios q4: do you set the game to a difficulty that is challenging and run the risk of losing or do you prefer the safer option and set it down a notch. I like a difficult setting but have to be able to see improvement so rarely go full hardest settings q5: do you care about other drivers (human/ai) on the road and try not to make contact of do you bulldozer your way through them? Very much dependent on the game I'm playing. Any F1 based game and I dont want to touch anyone where as I'll give someone a whack on GRID. q6: loads of people have played Grid if so how did you feel about the team management side of it (signing sponsors) did you like/dislike it? tell me why. Interesting a t first but got dull pretty quickly and please don't make me have to race Le Mans every 5 minutes! q7: car handling (this should be fun to assess) do you prefer a simplistic model or a realistic one? Realistic for me, racing on rails at full blast all the time is no fun q8: do you prefer games like GTR/GT5 or do you prefer games like NFS/GRID GT5 for me all the way, just wish there was a good F1 game on PC
??? Im currently running a (slightly modified) full 2010 season mod for rFactor, At full difficulty its amazingly hard, but also great fun to play. The great thing about PC racing games is that there nearly all have F1 Mods available.
q1: 24 - PC and PS2/3 (Gran Turismo Series) q2: race on. I don't accept defeat q3: I like to see how the car handles first and then tweak it. I don't like games in which you can only drive stock cars regardless of how supercar-ish they are q4: no driving aid if possible. Sometimes traction control at the lowest setting so I can at least get moving instead of just spinning (I'm looking at you, GTR) q5: Twisted Metal is not a racing game q6: I haven't played Grid enough to judge this part of the game. I did not like the gameplay however q7: I prefer a realistic model, as long as you don't need to be a pro to lap fast q8: GTR, GT4 and surely GT5 when it comes out
q1: how old are you and what platforms do you play racing games on? 41, PC q2: your racing a 3 lap race and come the last lap you're down in 5th, do you reset and try again or race on and take the flag? take flag q3: do you like to tinker with your car under the bonnet and swap out parts or do you prefer to just pick a car and go?Pick a car and go q4: do you set the game to a difficulty that is challenging and run the risk of losing or do you prefer the safer option and set it down a notch. default setting q5: do you care about other drivers (human/ai) on the road and try not to make contact of do you bulldozer your way through them? depends on the game and my mood q6: loads of people have played Grid if so how did you feel about the team management side of it (signing sponsors) did you like/dislike it? tell me why. haven't played it but sounds boring q7: car handling (this should be fun to assess) do you prefer a simplistic model or a realistic one? again depends on the game and mood. My favorite LAN game is Flatout 2 and its no where near realistic q8: do you prefer games like GTR/GT5 or do you prefer games like NFS/GRID NFS/GRID, Flatout 2, Porsche Unleashed, and its time for a good car combat game (car with power ups/weapons) maybe BLUR but havent tried it yet
Q1 20, PC and Xbox 360 Q2 depends, I'll usually finish and then repeat the race. If its a race I've been stuck on and am frustrated I'll restart earlier. Q3 Love upgrading the car but I also like to not have to setup every little setting to be able to drive properly. Q4 Depends on the game, for example, on Forza 3 I've got it at the hardest setting and its still to easy, other times I might go for default. Q5 Depends on game. Usually try to not ram too much especially if there's damage in the game. Q6 Was a bit boring, and pointless, the drivers seemed rubbish and weren't aggressive enough. Q7 Prefer realistic ones, like Gran Turismo, Forza, also like the really realistic ones like GTR Evo and rFactor but they can sometimes be a pain to play because of the realism. If I just want a good quick race, then I can forgive realism for fun, like NFS Shift. Q8 I don't mind, I like both genres. All depends on what mood I'm in and how I want to play.
oh go on Q1 27 PC and PS3 (gt5) Q2 race on and take the flag, to me its all about the race and not the result. Q3 love it, spent weeks customizing cars in Dirt and GT. Q4 Maximum difficulty with the option for snakes in the footwell. Q5 avoid all contact as much as possible, will even take into consideration AI racing lines and will back off when I know im either taking the piss or not going to get away with it. Q6 nice idea that needed expanding on. Q7 realism here, there are times when the G25 comes out and i'll spend 3 hours doing one race on GTR other times its a plesent cruise in GT5 Q8 think i just answered it in Q7.
q1: how old are you and what platforms do you play racing games on? 28, PC, Wii and PS3 q2: your racing a 3 lap race and come the last lap you're down in 5th, do you reset and try again or race on and take the flag? Take the Flag q3: do you like to tinker with your car under the bonnet and swap out parts or do you prefer to just pick a car and go? Both q4: do you set the game to a difficulty that is challenging and run the risk of losing or do you prefer the safer option and set it down a notch. I try out each level and pick the one that i am best at (i get frustrated easy then lose interest) q5: do you care about other drivers (human/ai) on the road and try not to make contact of do you bulldozer your way through them? Bulldooze all the way q6: loads of people have played Grid if so how did you feel about the team management side of it (signing sponsors) did you like/dislike it? tell me why. No Comment, Hated GRID. q7: car handling (this should be fun to assess) do you prefer a simplistic model or a realistic one? A combination of the 2. q8: do you prefer games like GTR/GT5 or do you prefer games like NFS/GRID Depends on my Mood. Lately more of the arcade style (mod nation, Burnout Paradise) but i also enjoy realistic games such as GT5 PL (and GT5 whenever that comes out)
Q1: 20, Xbox360 & PC Q2: Reset Q3: Tinker Q4: Challenging Q5: Bulldoze, I play dirty. Q6: Never checked that out Q7: Realistic (providing appropriate car part tuning options are provided for it) Q8: Both
q1: how old are you and what platforms do you play racing games on? NA / PC q2: your racing a 3 lap race and come the last lap you're down in 5th, do you reset and try again or race on and take the flag? Race on q3: do you like to tinker with your car under the bonnet and swap out parts or do you prefer to just pick a car and go? depends, if it's a wacky arcade racing game and I can pick missiles and nitrous boosts and stuff then yeah I like that, if it's a more realistic racer then I rather just pick a car and go. I would rather not be screwing around with gear ratios and tire pressures. q4: do you set the game to a difficulty that is challenging and run the risk of losing or do you prefer the safer option and set it down a notch. I play pretty much every game ever, on medium/normal. q5: do you care about other drivers (human/ai) on the road and try not to make contact of do you bulldozer your way through them? I try to win. If bulldozing ruins my speed or damages my car, or risks putting me in a spin, then I am careful and I try to overtake them properly. If I can bulldoze them out the way without any problem though, then I would do that. q6: loads of people have played Grid if so how did you feel about the team management side of it (signing sponsors) did you like/dislike it? tell me why. Never played it q7: car handling (this should be fun to assess) do you prefer a simplistic model or a realistic one? Depends on the game again. I never minded the ridiculously unrealistic model in old games like Lotus Challenge or Ironman, the game was about more than driving perfection. If it is a proper racing game though, then it needs to be very realistic or I'll probably want to just uninstall it. q8: do you prefer games like GTR/GT5 or do you prefer games like NFS/GRID NFS. Preferably with rocket launchers and lasers and oil slicks. Shame there aren't really any games like that anymore.
