i just drank two third of a bottle of wine and am shovelling popcorn down my throat like there will be no tomorrow.

this doesn't happen after an indiscrete amount of (single malt) whiskey.

    why?

    Salted popcorn?

Your body needs the extra salt to deal with the extra liquid?

Couldn't say why the drunken munchies come about...but for me when drunking time comes around and I get home, drunken munchies is 'Epic cheese on toast'

This consists of some or all of the below:

    Bread
    Cheese
    Bacon
    Ham
    Sausage
    Chicken
    Onion
    Tabasco
    Lea & Perrins

Essentially it's the contents of the fridge on toast....sheer epicness

My drunken munchies consist of an In-N-Out double-double burger and animal fries.

If I can't get my hands on that, I mope miserably and pass out.

Wait, we're allowed to post drunk on B-T? Excellent!

And if it's wine (10-15% ABV), your body won't be too full of liquid. Chances are, the alcohol will dehydrate just as much).

Another idea... wine, popcorn... Should we get you a copy of Sleepless In Seattle and a fresh new vagina? Really make that last third of a bottle sparkle for ya. ;-)

    xx

I don't have drunk munchies. They have to drive. I don't share my alcohol. :D

Generally any burger/kebab/pizza joint that's open hits all my spots at once after some beers and whiskey

Like last night, anyone else here know the mighty Lisburn Rd Esperantos? I asked for one of each colour of circley thing and two triangle things, epic munchie tastyness :thumb: Add to that my friend eating less than half his misc. kebab and passing it over

Edit: btw no idea about the popcorn, I don't drink wine... Did get a mad notion for salty popcorn while making it earlier today though!

to address various issues raised in the posts above:
yes, wine. there were a few bottles at home that needed to be drunk. my usual drink is single malt. that said, sign me up for that vagina: i ate a whole tub of ben and jery's chocolate fudge brownie frozen yogurt the night before.
i can also handle much more than 2/3rds, but i don't like to go to the point of not being in control.

Dunno really.. I used to think kebab was the (second) best thing to end the night, but I kinda got bored of that. The idea always sounds tempting and delicious, but in the end it really is just grease and parts-of-animal-that-you-don't-really-want-to-eat... Also with all the garlic and hot sauce, the morning after will usually be that little bit worse.

Now I prefer to just come back home and eat something here. Also drink milk :)

Well, in my experience, i tend to go for one of the following when drunk and looking for food:
Leftovers (i.e. anything in the fridge).
Hot Nando's Full chicken meal, a wrap (also hot) and some (hot) chicken livers. Then i get home, eat the chips and pass out. Then i wake up in the morning, see a HUGE pile of food on my table, try some and realise that i was way too brave with the spiciness and the amount... every time...
other than that, i tend to have frozen chicken livers around. Some Garlic, some Thyme, some Chili, some Peri-Peri and toast... :D

Living next door to KFC and on the opposite side of the road to a kebab shop, I have both levels of drunkeness sorted - 10+ pints = kebab, fewer than 10 = KFC.

I normally go for savoury grease over sweet stuff so no popcorn for me!

Also, I was lusting after a Chinese in the drunk munchies, but had to go for Doritos instead.:sigh:

Thank you guys for a pleasant morning of web surfing. I have been looking up kebab shops and what is a kebab. Sounds pretty cool.
This is advertised as the first real kebab shop in US.

Somehow, between the fact that MANKZ posted that, and "hobnobs", which i have never even heard of, my mind jumped to "hobo knobs"... the thought that ensued was definitely on the wrong side of pleasant

Sig'd twice on bit-tech. Huh. Should I feel honoured, or utterly shamed?
