We're not scapegoating immigrants... but it's all their fault.

When end March comes around, and the separation agreement is put on paper in stark legal terms enforced by international court, and the UK government realises that after bickering amongst themselves for 20 months and chasing unicorns they have exactly one year left to seal the deal and prepare for Brexit Day, we will see what happens to their ambitious cakey aspirations.

Cue Frother apoplexy at the fact the EU is holding the UK to what it agreed in December.

That's because we as the UK have a right to change our mind. Except when it comes to referendums because the people have spoken.

"We can't suck and blow at once..." --Boris Johnson, on BBC Radio 4 news at 8:30am.

Yet somehow, Boris, you manage to.

"it is wrong to see the [Government's] task as maintaining 'no border'" on the island of Ireland after Brexit"

...fairly sure the GFA spells out that it very much is the government's task, hence the frothers calling for it to be ripped up and shat on. GFA or Frother Brexit, you cannae have both.

I think that will be one more reason for the EU to want to make sure that the 'no hard border' clause is legally nailed down.

    Indeed it does.
Plus the frothers have another thing coming if they believe they can get up on a pedestal, tear up the GFA, then turn around and ask to be taken seriously in negotiating other agreements with various countries.

You mean negotiating all those deals we currently have via the EU that give us a better deal as we negotiated en masse rather than a single nation.

Yeah can't wait for all the bullsh1t around those to come out either.

I can just picture that conversation:

"So, until we get our own trade negotiators together, we were kind of hoping to just roll over the deal we had as part of the EU..."
    "No."
    "Why not? Nothing has changed!"
"Everything has changed. You're not part of the EU anymore."
"Yeah but we're still the same country!"
"Actually no, you're not. You're a much smaller country now, and desperate for a deal. And frankly, if you turn your back on your allies on the whim of an ill-advised referendum, and tear up the Good Friday agreement, why should we trust you? You're an unstable proposition now. Besides you must be soft in the head to walk away from the single market, so possibly you're also insane"

Of course, it could also go like this:

"So, until we get our own trade negotiators together, we were kind of hoping to just roll over the deal we had as part of the EU..."
"Why roll over the old deal? We don't need no stinkin' old deal! Why, now you are a sovereign, agile country surely we can negotiate much better! Just sit here Mr Davis if you could just drop your pants and bend over the table like this yes that's wonderful now don't move be right back while we get our team of highly experienced ninja negotiators, and we will do you the most special deal, you'll see..."

...especially when the UK's representatives don't even turn up to negotiations.

The joys of being on the receiving end of civil servant sticking to the letter of the law and being jobsworths. :)
