Wait, so what's the difference between a P55 and P57?

nope. This board is for socket 1156 CPUs, therefore dual-channel.

Nice "flashy" looking board but realistically, it would cost so much I would need to shoot myself in the foot and cash out some health insurance just so I could get it lol.

TBH as much as I would like this I'll probably give it a miss and go stright for the inevitibly revised P57 version.

That said the EVGA P55 board looks very tasty, albeit with a stupid slot layout (and probably a stupid price too). Why optimise for tri-sli when its pointless?

There is no tri-SLI option for P55

I'm waiting for new AMD chipsets.

The GD-70 and the M4A89-T is way too expensive.

And someone should punch Asus for making such a random names for all their motherboards.

yeah evga don't mess around.. I've bought them over asus just for the warranty- look at the mosfet heatsink lol it's almost an inside joke- we used to have alot of drama surrounding mosfet cooling when foxconn was using this pink stuff under the sinks in the older boards and half the time you popped them off and there was a couple mosfets that were'nt even touching giving no heat transfer whatsoever..

memory was frying left and right :D and you had alot of guys who don't re-do their tims rma like 5-6 times.. the evga board doesn't look as silly as that asus p55 either

Bindi, MSI has at least 2 boards for LGA1156: g7p55-dc and g9p55-dc. The latter has a NF200 (or similar) in it and says in the description "Hardware 3-way SLI", according to http://en.inpai.com.cn/doc/enshowcont.asp?id=6116.

personally the pci-e issue to me really isnt an issue or rather a big deal, I would simple nab a highend dual gpu card and call it good.

Haven't payed attention to intel in quite a while myself, but it looks damned expensive and limited (dual channel ddr3 and no tri sli?) to me. Would i be mad just building myself an i7 920 rig now?
