Good work man! I'll be keeping an eye out on this one. Maybe I'll get some ideas on making some more room inside my own case (even if it is a miditower ;) ). Looks really good, keep it up :thumb:

The xice block barely clears it. I thought about placing the pump there too but for some reason it doesn't fit for me. The only place i've managed to place it is in the drivebay. Most of the other shuttles that were watercooled has the memory slots away from the front of the case, but for mine they're causing a lot of trouble :wallbash: But i've managed to go around them ok :)

I have some good and bad news:

First the good news. My project is done :dremel: It looks pretty amazing if you ask me.

    The bad news:

I lost ALL MY IMAGES of the worklog!! :wallbash: it was all saved in my other comp and one day the hard drive decides to suicide. So that's what, like 200 images gone?!? sigh..

So I guess i'll just post what I have left of those images and then i'll just post the final pics :( Should've updated when i had the chance!

    Ready for the final update?

Again, I apologize for not having the rest of the pics of the progress. I will try my best to explain in words in certain parts. As if there was enough bad news, something even worse happened. My radeon 9800 decides to die on me. What happens is when I use it, I get all sorts of weird colors/lines all over the screen. Happens before windows even loads, and when it does get into windows, it's completely screwed. So I have replaced it with a saphire 256mb 9600xt. Not too bad since i don't game. Anyways, enough talking, on to the pics!

The towels I used for polshing. The one on the left is a microfiber one and the one on the right is just a regular polishing towel. The yellow one was used first, then followed by the blue one to finish off the polish.

This is the case after it has been sanded down. I was in such a hurry to finish this case (after working on it for 7 months) that this step was not taken seriously. I ended up having to repolish the case THREE times. The end result, still not as satisfying as I was hoping for, was still not too bad. You'll see..

As you polish, it really gets BLACK

    The top almost finished polished

OooOo shiny. Remember, this use to be black in color. A dull anodized black.

    Not bad...

I wish the side was shinier...

Polishing the side with the window was really annoying. Nothing to grip onto :p

Now this is interesting. For the case feet, i first used four acrylic cubes. I then used 4 acrylic rods, and basically glued them into the cubes. I had to drill through the cubes halfway in order to fit the rods. Every cube had to be drilled exactly the same depth otherwise it wouldn't have worked. I wanted to try something different and i think this adds a lot of flavor to the case!

    me like..

I sleeved the wires that came from the dvdrom and the led wire too

This was the starting of connecting the tubes. You can see that I used different tubes but within the same size. I used the thermaltake tubes for placing that needed tight bending. The thermaltake tubing was like noodles.. they were SO flexible i loved it. The only bad part is that they're not as clear as the other tubing. The other tubing was from aqua computer and they were required in order for the plug and cool system to work with my reservoir and radiator fittings. They were a lot harder and did not bend whatsoever. Stiff as a rock! But they were a lot shinier and nicer in quality i guess.

There was a lot of traffic inside the case. nothing kinked tho :D

Here you see a tubing that goes all around the case to connect to the radiator on the outside. You'll see another picture with better details later.

Here my sister is holding on a reservoir while i tried to fill it. This process was horrible. Not only did I keep spelling all over the friggin place, there were SO many air bubbles that the water just refused to go down into the pump. So the more I filled, the more water the reservoir had, but nothing in the system :waah: After about 10 min or so it would gurgle and then travel to the other reservoir, but still not through the system. After another 20 min it would finally go down a little bit. All in all it took about an hour 1/2 to fill the system and another hour to get the bubbles out.

Finally everything filled. I left everything lying around while i was testing for leaks.

The tubes enter the case through that cutout i made. Originally I was going to use a piece of red acrylic to cover that. But i ran out of money and time so too bad.

I haven't attached the plexi to the case yet so whenever I spilled, the liquid went straight into the system through the window. So i decided to cover the window to be safe :)

This is the pump in the system. Usually it lights up blue but since I used some green uv dye, it makes an eerie green glow. I like it!

The tubing into the xice block.. lookin sexy

    Everywhere..

Ahh better. The reservoirs were attached via double sided tapes w/ the clips. This makes it so that it wasn't that permanent incase something went wrong. I later blacked the edges of the tape so they do not show.

This is the hdd meter i bought that allows the leds to blink whenever there is hdd activity. The lights basically start from the center and light up outwards. Since I wanted to use 5mm leds and i wanted to attach it to the front of my case, i had to desolder every led, attach wiring and new leds. This process was more painful than i thought.

Look at that mess! It was later cleaned up though, ofcourse ;)

    FINAL PICTURES

Finally, here is the finished case. Have fun:

Again another shot of the case feet. Yes, they do light up. You'll see.

This is how the tubing gets to the radiator. The radiator was mounted by screwing onto the case from the inside w/ fan screws so that its flush against the cover. Once the cover was on, there was no taking off. Any mistakes caused me to wanna suicide.

The relocated eject button and led. Very convenient and pimp.

    nice..

    Dual reservoirs? Looks nice :)

    MmmMmm..........

    The finished front

My friends tell me this looks like a face. I guess it does..

The side with the acrylic attached. Here you see the 9600 instead of the 9800. RIP :(

Originally the other tubing was supposed to go through this hole. Due to the size of the shuttle, it was impossible. It was so packed there was no room whatsoever. There wasnt even room for like a skinny piece of wire. So i decided to put an led here. Not sure what its for yet..

    another pic

    I love the reservoirs..

    they light up too :p

Here you can see how the tubing squeezes through to get out to the raditor. It literally goes between the ram sockets. I used like 8 90 degree elbow thingies all together.

    LETS TURN IT ON BABY!

    The hdd meter loading

yes, the feet lights up too. THe rods, no they dont. The cubes yes.

    Uv led placed behind reservoirs

You can see the lighted vandal resistant switches

    The front

Probably going to light up the inside w/ some uv leds in the future.

Right side w/ activity led lighted

    Right side..

    Glowing.....

    Again!

    Tubes entering case

    Overall.. i love it

What do u think hm? :dremel:

Lights off. I really need to light up the inside.

    glowing reservoirs again

    Finished.

This was 7 months of work. It finally paid off. I hope I have done something new and different and inspired some people that watercooling is possible for shuttle cases. It was fun but torturous at times because I was seriously unable to fit through places with my hands. Thank goodness for little sisters :p I hope you enjoyed this and leave a comment if you wish. If you have a question please ask.

As for the temps, the cpu idles at 29! And loads at about 38. This is with the THERMALTAKE block and pump. Whoever says thermaltake can't cool. The radiator is from innovatek though. And the reservoirs from alphacool. The gpu block from xice. Companies everywhere :)

    Hope you had fun reading...

Simply awesome! Quality work and attension to detail netted you a piece of art! The only thing I would do different would be something other than Red for the switches and feet. Green or Blue, but that is simply personal preference. The colors are good for Christmas though. . .

The only thing I can comment on is lights inside maybe... Personally I like the red... If you have green lights on the top and the gradient leading to red lights at the bottom :thumb: I think that would look nice. It does kinda look like a frog with the res' on top.

    Good work anyway :dremel:

I would have to agree with the feet. I think it would look better with mabey steel tubes going across but leaving the lit cubes. Might fit better with the whole polished steel look. But other than that the case looks great. The Res are bad ass (scream ninja turtles tho) but still bad ass.
