Pull out the ssd cable then boot-turn off-reconnect ssd-boot. For booting does the bootmenu show your cdrom? And if so it should be shown twice. What MB is it? Sent on my CM10 JB powered i9100 by TapaTalk 2

Woooh, I'm not getting funny, now you are into the bios and have things sorted start the install is all I'm saying! I'm sure the disk is fine. Good luck with the rest of the install!
I am sure it was just an arrrrrrggggg panic post. It is only erroring because it can't find a Uefi or mbr record. Sent on my CM10 JB powered i9100 by TapaTalk 2
I've just had a go at pulling out ssd boot-turn off-reconnect ssd-boot no affect, I don't have a Cdrom drive or dvd drive at present, only a external dvd drive that I'v left unbluged for the moment, Please be more pacific my SSD is 256gb but in BIOS it's something like 239 there's some pre installed-stuff in there I think, from the manufacturer I think this may be my best option but I may do some research at www.sevenforums.com/tutorials as user aramil sugested. In all honesty I don't know what a Uefi or mbr is. My apologies Psyance I've taken no offence, I had thought my response had a humor implied Thanks to all for your time, but at this stage it's up to me to do some more online research/Google on builds with Samsung 830 SSD's, as I'm terribly ignorant of what needs doing after a system is built.
No worries, the written word can easily take the wrong meaning. If I were you, I'd start completely again with fresh eyes and try to come at it like it was just a reinstall. I see, based on your above post you are trying to install using an external usb optical drive and I honestly think this is where the problem is. I'd borrow if possible, or buy a cheapy £10 internal DVD drive and install only this, ssd, ram, CPU / mobo and psu. Head into the bios, make sure achi is set in the sata controller and the the boot order is set to internal optical first then ssd. Insert your win7 cd and restart, head through the install and the rest should be gravy worry about installing anyother hardware once you get the os installed. Sorry if you have done this already, it's just what I'd do, go back to the beginning and start again. Best of luck!
You need to either set the BIOS to boot from the DVD as the first device, or use the F8 option previously mentioned at boot time. A third method you can use on ROG boards is to do a one time boot from the DVD. Which ROG board do you have? Just in case they are nont all the same, someone with the same board may be able to better advise on whichever method you opt to use.
I'm back! for anyone still hanging about, I've been busy learning what I can. Psyance I've decided to implement you'r idea, and buy a DVD ROM drive, it will arrive some time next week but I'm feeling very impatient. Asus Maximus V Gene a LED for (boot device problem) on the board only lights up when I'm in BIOS, perhaps relevant? Would it have any impact on my PC if I just when't a head and forgo the DVD drive, as I simply have no use for one besides for a one time boot for Windows 7 which my external one will do for me?
Aye Aye Captain!! it reads in BIOS: But I can not hold out any longer, might just wing it and install Win 7. I'm feelin frisky
Good luck. Oh, and you might want to seek help about your sexual arousal at the prospect of installing an OS
AAARRRRGGGGG (best piratey voice) You need to put USB as #1 and then the 830 as #2 That way it will look on your external drive before the SSD for an OS.
It should just install off the usb cdrom (or if you have another computer copy the disc contents to a fat32 formated usb stick) if you can boot to it. Sent on my CM10 JB powered i9100 by TapaTalk 2
Yes I did but they told me that I suffered from being a Anime/SCI-FI/Warhammer fan and as such getting wood every time I install an OS, was completely normal for someone of my precariously mindset
Win 7 is up and running no errors, some small mouse lag but otherwise good. Now all I need to do is find the right drivers for my setup, but it does't want to connect through my devolo dlan 200 AV home plug, moving my big ass FT02B-W to the main router/modem would be a colossal royal pain in the A*** But perhaps this is a topic best left to another thread in another place another time in a galaxy far away far........ My apologies thinking too much tends to overheat my brain
