I don't think I've been reported, never had a PM from a mod giving me a slap on the wrist.. I did get told off once for circumventing the swear filter..
In your User CP you can see any infractions you have if you've done anything worth marking on your account.
Infractions are a fairly new thing and, personally speaking, most of the moderation I do involves having a quiet word in a thread or a PM. I tend to reserve infractions as slightly less serious alternatives to bans, and as warnings to a user that, should they continue doing something, the next time will be a ban.

Yeah, there is a Mod area of the forum that normal users can't see. They discuss mod stuff, new ideas and there's a thread which records all the edits and deletes they make.
50% of my report button useage is me trying to be funny (and failing). I can only hope I haven't annoyed too many mods. Aww man, I want to see it now.
