    @x06jsp, thnx :)

    @500mph, thnx :) yeah i was speechless when i found out too.

    @Dean MF, thnx :), your case is completed and it too looks great, i followed your worklog :)

    @jokkos, thnx :), until they arrived ive only ever seen pics of them, i can tell you , they look much better in person :)

    @IncBot, thnx :), im totally wrapped in the sponsorship too.

    @Mankz., thnx :), id be speechless if that was the case.

    @yakyb, thnx :), i thought about water cooling it before i started the project and i did the maths and i just cant afford a decent set up of water cooling, i could do a cheap version, but its not the same, ive seen alot of mods by people in the community and im blown away by their watercooling skills, these are skills i dont have, so regretfully, no i'm not going watercooling, i dont have alot of money as is, im saving for hardware, which is almost ready to buy, nothing super duper, but itll do for the build/mod.

    @Cheapskate, thnx :), the camera vs. the sun's reflection, was just perfect for the pic, i was amazed by it when i saw the photo afterwards.

    @ComputerKing, thnx :) wont be too long.

    @TNash, ill say, its really bright, more like candy apple red, and the backing just gave it that bit extra.

    @Dean MF, I did???....woooah....ok now im speechless!!!....thnx peeps for voting for future ne[]n .....wow...im seriously speechless....thnx, really thnx :)

    @ComputerKing, thnx :) heaps!!!!

    @GAM, Im floored!!!!!!...thnx :)

    Seriously, words cant describe the feeling im feeling, thank you all for voting :):):):):):):)

    UPDATE [1st September 2007]

    So this case is coming along pretty well. I like the fact that the plan has become the reality, and that through my amazing patience its going to plan, (i really dont have alot of patience)

    A couple of things i had to fix -

    The DVD Rom bay was out just a bit, so i removed the lot and swapped it it round to the way it should have been, took the whole day to get it lined right, didnt use a ruler like should have , just line of eye sight, im 99% sure its dead on accurate.

    Also while i was measuring up the side panels to make sure they fit properly , i noticed that the whole case was leaning forward and for a few hours i just looked at it, inbetween doing something else, i couldnt place where i had gone wrong, it shouldnt be this far out, a mm or two is ok, but 1 cm is alot, so i just kept coming back to it , staring trying to figure out my mistake, then it dawned on me.

    When I lined up the DVD Rom bay frame, i levelled the base bit, it alone was pulling the case in the wrong direction , so i removed the rivets and srtaightened the case out, then resized the side panels again, nice fit, so that too is now fixed.

    I also cut out the top and bottom and corner panels, the corner panels is where im having some trouble because they are not perfectly square so when i line up the corner panels , its extremely noticable, but i cant do much about that now, so im just going to re cut the corner side pieces to how they match up with the case and prey for the best.

    I test fitted the Case Feet and they look nice, low profile too, so im happy.

    I did some other work to the side panels, this is where the lighting on the edge of the front / top / bottom and side panels comes into play (see pic below)

    Basically im going to custom a square red tube with a few layers of acrylic, then cover two sides with alu film and drill a hole for one red led in the back and into the acrylic, that will be powered by the fan bus, just some candy leds for show, should come up ok.

    This next pic is the side panel, not completed, polishing is going to render my hands useless, ive already sprained two fingers from filing, my hands are really starting to feel this, so im begining to slow down so they can recoupe.

    Might be getting the hardware earlier than expected.

    Also found out that i can get mothers alu polish in oz, which im grateful for.Ive started sanding the alu panels down, starting with 800 then 1000 finally 1200, i dont think i could manage anymore , need strength for hand polishing of the panels.

    Here's one of the panels, each side isnt the same due to each acrylic panel is different.

    Just to give you an idea.

    Well thats it for me for now, back later with some polished panels i hope :).

    Congratulations and good luck on MoM nomination!

    Mother's polish is good for a final polish, but the DuPont polishing compound I use is a good choice in my opinion. It's kind of gritty. I use after only only 600 grit sanding, so it's a great timesaver. you could skip the 1000+ sanding stages with it.

    Mini Update...

    I havnt started on the polish, i forgot something and need to pick it up tomorrow, so today I worked on the top and bottom panels, cutting them to size, afixing the billet case feet to it.

    Then worked on the top panel, originally i hadnt made a design for the top panel, maybe coz i wasnt ever going to have anything on the top, but thats now changed, but still not complete.

    [IMG]
    future ne[]n side window panel (ready for polishing)

    [IMG]
    other window panel (ready for polishing)

    [IMG]
    Top Panel with proposed red acrylic window (not fully completed)

    [IMG]
    This too will be polished, feet will stay the same and ill add el wire red to highlight the lot. (update at a later date)

    [IMG]
    Just another shot of the feet with the case on top of it.

    There's still a whole lot to do, my left hands been playing up, but i hope to commence polishing the alu soon, i know i said the weekend, but its fathers day so polishing has been posponed for the time being.
