Hehe Zap, I have seen your DVD mod and love it! I am hoping to do it with a white LED! But I also want to use the other microswitch to turn on indicator lights when a Disc is inside the drive (of course these indicators may light up a panel ;) ) Thanks for the link again!

    :D

Yet another... replied before reading 100% of it.
(I am guilty too  )

I will also be using some white LEDs in my next slot DVD (For my wife)
I love the idea of have a Disk-present indicator LED.
    Great idea :thumb:

Un-friggin-believable. I'm not a fan of acrylic cases, but my god man! I'm a HUGE old-school scifi fan and this project would fit right in with any of those old movies! The only thing you need is a Jacob's Ladder and some vacuum tubes! ;)

id just like to say that you know you've done a good job when the forums are so laggy (went down for 30 minutes...related?)..seriously though lol, i think this is the fastest log to hit 56000 visits if not, then in a long time :)
-very- nice case, lots of ideas that ppl can incorporate into their own mods...great job :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Nice to see the pics are up.

Wow! Thats all i can say.

I've never really been a big fan of acrylic cases i think some look cluttered, Not all of them thou. It seems so hard to make it look all clean and tidy.

But i think you have got that mastered. And stealthing the motherboard, well i just can't wait to see that.

What part are you working on now?:D :D

It’s been a while since I've read through the project logs, but all I saw and heard was check out the Aussie dudes log.
And what happens? You get [H]'d.

Well here I am now, and all I can say is WOW

I am so impressed with the level of detail and the way it’s being implemented into the whole theme.

Zap, DDK, Macroman etc looks like there’s some competition out there.

    WoW!

Incredible work man! It's a shame that you'll have to actually put components in it; they'll block the view. Send a pic to the Smithsonian and ask an incredible sum of $$$ for it!

    Hat's off bro!

Here Here! This is the best and biggest modding project I've seen all year. Well done G-gnome, I salute you for you skill and for your love of vintage Brit Sci-Fi. :D

You will be giving your version a proper ORAC stylee power switch, won't you.... :thumb:

Just OT for a sec, I think you're overestimating the /. effect, EqUaTe. Any decent dedicated solution can handle it.

Back on topic, G-gnome, I hear Electronic systems by M.W. Brimicombe (ISBN: 0174480679) provides a great grounding in electronics. I've just started it, and it seems quite good :)
