Graphics GeForce FX Thread

The benches are really quite poor They better get the NV35 out the door pritty quick if they want to take back the market they lost to the 9700pro (granted it only totals about 0.5% of the gfx card market share but hay ).

Its also hot (2.5GHz P4 Hot) and very loud 60dBa on full blast

 

What should have been a great 6 months in terms of graphics cards is rapidly turning into a farce.

nVidia release a right turkey (I knew they shouldda got it out before Chrimble ) and ATi are being done for insider trading!

 

Did you download the vid from Anandtech? they had one which was doing 79dBa, ! It sounds like a jet plane when it gets going, ! R350 is going to make the Geforce FX look rather silly, the question is how quickly can ATI get the R400 out? if they can stay a cycle ahead then NVidia is going to have to work pretty hard!

Im the type of person who likes to see and hear what ppl think bout Pc equipment. I first started on windows 3.1 blah with my 8 mb video card . but Technology has definatly hit my heart big time. Im not totally sure about whats going to happend once GeForce Fx is released but i am Surelly Excited. Imma leave my Trust in Bit-Tech and see what there opinions are and if they say its a buy then ill go n get it. This message wasnt intended to start trouble just state an opinion

 

yea i thought this thing was gonna be a leet 3205692fps at 1600x1200 grafics card

I too was disappointed with the benchmarks, but who knows maybe later drivers will help it out.

 

just wait for the R350. should be here by March...

 

Personally even if it had an even bigger infcrease in perfomance to the 9700 pro i would still not buy something that sounds like a dust buster.

I guess the nvid fan boys were right. It does BLOW the ati 9700 pro away. woooooshhhh

 

The next series of games (Doom 3 ect...) may let the card show off more (hopefully!)...

As for the cooling, there will be versions w/o the monster cooler.

 

Not so, doom3 beachmarks only show 5% games ( with the alpha test ) SO NV is screwed in 'DX9' games as well ! HAHA. And the radion 9700 has dx9 support as well !

Also the versions without the cooler will be SLOWER in clock speed to keep the temp down.


Basically NV is screwed

 

The benchmarks don’t really bother me but rather the heat it produces and the stupid fan, ive spent a lot of money on my computer to keep it quiet so I’m really not going to stick a gfx card in with a cooler that gets louder than my old delta screamer.

I think it will be a R350 for me at least it shouldn’t have a stupid cooler and I can live with the occasional driver error.

 

I can't even put a GF FX in my PC, as I have a shuttle. Not that I'd want a vacuum cleaner inside my already super quiet PC

Well with a little luck I'll be having a look at the card soon, but I have to say I've been terribly disappointed by its first reviews.
