Other General Battlefield 3 discussion thread

How much are you all using the VOIP through Battlelog? I'm just plugging along supporting my squad without much chat. Still enjoying it, but voice would probably add something to it, no?

 

Apparently the VOIP isn't that good (according to my mate). We use Skype when we play as a squad, it has much better voice quality.

 

I just watched the Karkand video and whilst I havent ever played previous BF titles I am looking forward to it.

Is it just me or did that video just go over old ground regarding destruction or will the expansion also bring even more destruction into the game? or have they just added it to the expansion only maps? And even more weapons bloody hell!!

 

I've found the ingame VOIP to have about a half second delay, or thereabouts. Fine when things are slow, but when it's a bit frantic not so much...

 

Cannot stop playing this game. Wish the green flickering would stop though
I have 3 mainstays server wise - CPC and the two ZiiP ones. Particularly having good games on ZiiP.

 

I cannot wait for the Karkand map, too bad it's coming all the way in December

I need a bit of help choosing maps and modes for the cycle.

 

Tehran Highway is a nightmare on rush if your defending died 8 times in a row just trying to spawn at the first 2 objectives couple of guys just sat on the hill with tanks grrr that was on the CPC server so prob some of you guys lol

 

I hate the first phase of Tehran Highway rush. It just turns into a meatgrinder for both sides and is far too open to dominance by tanks and snipers.

 

Done. (I hate it when rush maps are vehicle dominated.)

 

I used to enjoy rush in BC2 but I find myself really disliking it in BF3. I would prefer more conquest but whether or not others feel the same I couldn't say.

 

DICE really need to fix the 'Bad Luck' death. 5 times now have I been in a vehicle and I've just 'died' through bad luck. Just happened to me while flying in a scout chopper.

Can you just now die of a heart attack mid flight now? It's absolutely retarded.

 

Yeah that's pretty irritating. The other thing that pisses me off is the inconsistent fall damage, especially on Hardcore.

Sometimes you can fall 15 feet, survive, heal up and move on.
Sometimes you fall 2 feet and die instantly.

Woe betide the soldier who steps down from a rock.

 

i testify on this as well. tho its grip for me as i hate laying prone with that thing. i just run around and 2-shot people

I was wondering this as well. The destruction so far seems less dynamic than BC2 so far.

 

Metro was brilliant last night! The last game we had at about 1am GMT was simply epic. Low numbers (7 v 8), but it was such a close game. Americans lost Bravo, then we managed to get it back, but the tickets were 37 vs 80-something. Managed to just hold Bravo and defend. I went batsh*t crazy with the SG553 (beautiful gun btw). Ended like so;

I agree with Mars about the "Bad Luck". Drives me cuckoo. Oh, I've sustained some damage to my LittleBird, I'll land and repair.... 'Bad Luck'.... watch it crash into the ground only to be stolen by the other team.

Some will say OP, they aren't really against an assault. Using a shotty still takes the element of surprise to win in a gun fight.


BTW I love it when you shoot someone point blank and they fly back 5 feet.
