    Meh, I don't like it.

    People should have to at least browse the forums to find threads that they are interested in instead of just filtering out everything but giveaways.

    Just use donation in marketplace, least noobs can't just access "giveaways"

    Most giveaways that I've seen have a minimum post count requirement, so anybody that enters will already be a contributing member of the forum, so as long as that continues I don't see any real problem with people registering just to enter.

    As an alternative, would it be possible to setup a sub-forum for giveaways that has a minimum post-count requirement, a bit like the marketplace forums?

    I agree with Flibblebot's idea of a separate subforum, with a post restriction. It would be a new attraction to bit-tech, but would also, er, force people to contribute.
