I believe the Steam version gives you the Rockstar installer, i don't believe it is an actual steam version of GTA but i might be wrong

 

Just means you download the game using steam servers not RSC [Rockstar Social club]
You still have to use RSC to sign into the game and connect to servers and registrar upcoming DLC.
So you will be using 2 clients to start the game instead of one.

 

there is a very small chance that the people getting the key outside of the EU may have DLC problems, or will have to get the DLC from the origin county of there main game EG: Brazil.

In the past rockstar has never region locked any of there games, but the have with DLC.
So it is safer to get in EU side, but personally i wish i went with nuuvem still, Gamer outlet are using CD box scans. so ill get mine a day or two before release. Still plenty of time to preload i guess.

So right now, anyone looking at the thread wanting to pre order, i recommend nuuvem. over £10 cheaper than anyware else, bounes, and preloading is to good to pass up imo.
Just rememeber to use Hola VPN set to Brazil

 

Just bought it on Nuuvem. Kept giving me a 404 error when trying to create or log in to an account if I was using the Hola set to Brazil. Worked fine with it set to Chile tho.

 

Not with my crappy PlusNet 1.2Mbs connection it isn't. And it rarely gets that speed.
I can't play a game at same time as someone else browsing a website or watching iplayer
Or something. How bad my net is.

I moved around half a mile away from a flat that had FTTH to a house that can't get anything.

Steam seems to be storing it in a depotcache folder in SteamApps.

Was hoping to give a copy to friend to avoid them enduring the 3hr download. Think it will only work for Steam copies. Hows the RockStar one being handled?

 

Got more ram donated by Gareth that will take me to 12GB, and overclocked my CPU @ 4Ghz with some CoolLaboratory Liquid Pro on its way (not replaced the thermal paste in 7 years!) Im hoping im overreacting but just in case this will all defo help for whicter 3 which will be a bitch to run.

 

Looks to be doing the install, or there abouts. Whether you can then copy the directories and the R* installer picks the content up and skips the download, though, I don't know.

Well the excitement got me again, bought the game 3 times across 3 platforms at full price now, luckily no other game breaks my will power like GTA does & they don't do it to death each year like other developers franchises, plus extra day 1 support for pc might convince rockstar to try doing pc release same time as consoles for future GTA's.

hmmm... the 8gb r9 290x is looking promising. Either that or I'm going crossfire. Although that won't help with the 2gb deficit.

 

would just like to point out its using 4GB VRAM at 4k, thats pretty dam good.
Meaning most of us with 3/4GB will be just fine with a single card at 1080/1200/1440p.

Where'd you get the RAM usage figure? I can't believe it's that low when they state the specs of the machine are : i7 5930k@3.50GHz, SLI GTX 980, 32GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD (here). More like there's only 2.6GB of the 32GB of RAM left unused!

It worked for a colleague earlier today, and it's in Nuuvem's best interest not to close the loophole!

Perhaps create the account first off VPN, log in, then VPN up add to cart and checkout?

Are you using the HOLA plugin, i can still login and place items in my basket no problems

 

I just tried it and still works, try and refresh your proxy a few times.
