    EVGA's apparently up to something.

To be honest though, this is probably the fourth time I've seen information about a dual Fermi GPU - and I've yet to see the first three emerge. Anyway, I imagine it'll perform the same as 570s in SLI.

I wonder if they will call it the GTX 595 or continue to impress us with a clandestine naming methodology?

Wasn't it EVGA that put two 470GTX chips on the one PCB? Could be something like that again.

Wasn't it ASUS that put two 480GTX chips on the one PCB? Could be something like that again.

Wasn't there an 'insider' article a month or so ago, stating that nVidia had a GTX595 ready to release, but were waiting on ATI to make the first move? Which even if true.. 69xx has already come on the scene..

At least with the GTX580 chips the PCB won't melt.

Hmm, the article says the card will be cheaper than a 580, so 2x460s (or maybe 560s) sounds about right.

Off the top of my head, SLI'd 460s perform 30% better than a 580, so maybe we'll see a 50% increase if 560s are used. It's a bit of a weird card really - I'm used to dual GPU cards having better performance than that. I imagine any dual GPU card AMD come up with will wipe the floor with the proposed 595.

Nvidia have struggled to create a dual-GPU card because of the high power demands.
Yes they are more powerful than AMD cards but AMD still win on power consumption vs performance I think, meaning than can make a dual-GPU card easily.

This is most likely why EVGA is using 2x460 GPUs as they won't require an extortionate amount of power and thus a high powered PSU.

I'm going to assume this card will be more power efficient than 460's in SLi which would presumable make it more powerful than a 480 and/or 580 for similar power consumption

Hopefully that card won't need an external power brick like that one Asus card a while back!

Will be interesting to see how this card and the 6990 perform soon. :)

I see you guys haven't had a look at the Fudzilla/nVidia spin machine. As always Mr. Fudo himself is "certain" about a lot of things. Alas, we'll see...
