Something I've been wondering for a while, is how most people finish their emails? I'm never especially sure how to finish my own ones, what's polite or appropriate and what ain't - so I'm curious what you lot do.

Personally I tend to finish up with:

    Cheers (/now)
    specofdust

    If it's going to mates,

    Regards,
    specofdust

If it's going to someone I don't know, or have to be a little more formal with, and if I'm sucking up or asking for something, I use "Kind Regards". So tell me Bit-tech, what do you do?

I'm not very imaginative. If its formal, usually either:

    Regards,
    Tanvir

    or Yours sincerely,
    Tanvir

    And if its informal:

    Cheers big ears!
    Tanvir

or if its a geekier individual,
    Yours electronically,
    Tanvir

if it's someone I know then either,

    Thanks,
    Mark.

    or just

    -Mark

If it's through work I just let my auto signature deal with it, which starts with a "Kind regards" followed by my full name, job title, work's name and telephone number (including extension)

The company's standard signature with my contact details. (Which I won't post here for obvious reasons) Correct font and all.

If it's to friends or family I don't bother at all. I mean, why should I? They know who it's from anyway.

It appears my auto-signature is "-Real Name, Rovaniemi" Dunno when I've added that, but I guess I've been using that a couple of years now.

I'm not a big fan of smalltalk/formal stuff so I just tend to drop the BS.

Personal just gets the "-Eric" treatment, plus my phone number when sent from my iPhone. Work does the standard "Regards, Name/Position/Desk/Main/Fax" thing, though the desk number is the only important one.
