And that Gavin Williamson lost his job when his office leaked the fact that the UK has been unable to find a single China specific back door in Huawei gear.

Of course it is also no surprise that the US would accuse companies of spying, after all that is exactly their own schtick...

Williamson wasbooted for allegedly leaking details (allegedly a transcript) from cabinet meetings. If it was true then definitely a sackable offence but only tangentally related to HSEC.

Sacked for supposedly leaking cabinet discussions maybe, but the fact that no backdoors have been found in Huawei code by GCHQ (or anyone else, for that matter) is a matter of public record.

Leaked first, fired second, public record third.

    Passage of time etc...

Public record first, by several years. Every year.
    2015 report
    2016 report
    2017 report
    2018 report
    2019 report

It would only come as a surprise to those actively sticking their fingers in their ears that neither GCHQ nor anyone else has managed to find any of the supposed Huawei backdoors.
