7 days in a row of heavy rain, funnel clouds, tornadoes, and hail have taken all the fun out of Colorado afternoons.

let me guess john, it wasn't like that when you were a kid ? :D

sucks to have to deal with that kind of crap though. Over here we're kinda lucky we're having a great day so far and a decent summer, though not very warm

Don't worry, at least you don't hate the people around your living vicinity.

Reminds me of the ice storm we had in 1998 in winter.
No power, no heat, no generators (sold out), no gas canisters (sold out), pre-cut wood without using the broken trees branch that fell and broke several windows of our house (sold out)...and -20C outside and inside. All this for several weeks, even months for some as all electric wires where cut including main ones from the far North hydro powered plants and those that goes to the U.S.

Yup... fun times. But, the good thing is that it did push the economy to extremes.

Luckily you had red cross, shopping malls, school (well there was no school as NO ONE havould get there unless you skates and live next to it, to get some warmth inside), to give you a little heat.
Also, it was every dangerous to go outside, as you can get large metal ice segments fall on your head.

I hope it won't be like this for you. :/

Did you guys happen to notice the size of the hail stones in the yard and on the driveway? We had a lot the size of golf balls and some the size of tennis balls. I'll try to get a picture of a funnel cloud this afternoon - it's building up again to be bad.

Not good weather at all for painting a mod! I love thunderstorms but having some great sunny days in between would be really nice. Having all this rain just encourages the green stuff to grow. Then in July and August when everything gets dry, it raises the fire danger here.

Oh well, as long as the hail doesn't dent my Mini, I'll let it be.

:( I want weather like that. Denmark is the most annoying country to live in. The weather here consists of rain. rain. rain. rain. rain. and then some more rain.. I WANT TORNADOES!

    This

Having weather that is just grey, nothing more and nothing less, 90% of the time gets boring real fast

We just had our first reported tornado of the day here and it has been HAILING for 30 minutes and not letting up. I'll build another Photobucket album and upload again.

I would be more affraid of a Forest fire than a Thunderstorm/Tornado, especially with it's some what unpredictible nature.

It's not just grey and boring, it's the Humidity, you think, billiant, a thunder storm will be along before long, but no, it hangs and sticks for weeks on end. Sleepless nights due to the humidity isn't fun.

Edit: Nice photo's John, i like the cloud shapes, it looks pretty angry

that was just awesome. You could look around and see the collapsed pylons everywhere it was amazing. I remember they restricted access to the downtown of Montreal because of ice falling off the buildings that could have killed you in a flash

They just changed it to an "uncontrolled" fire. and its about 7 miles away. But luckily the wind is blowing it away from us. Unluckily its windy out so its getting bigger fast.
