When you are OUT of beer, do you say 'ow-t' or 'oo-t"?? Throw an 'r' in the front and an 'er' at the end and you're all set... Oops, I mean sorted If GIF was supposed to be pronouced as "JIF", there would be a friggin J there instead of a G... In addition, GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format. Do you pronounce "graphic" with a "J"???? So there!
G-if sounds like you've got a speech problem. Jif, cause G is almost like a J instead of "Ger" you say "Ja". Out is ow-t
Plus I always pull my card of 'I used to work for Compuserve and went straight to the horses mouth so I could win arguments"
Eh, no wonder AOL wiped the floor with them.. Can't even pronounce their own creation correctly /me runs and hides from the Compuserve police...
its G-IF because "JIF" is a cleaner.... at least it should be but they changed the name to CIF because the continental europeans couldnt pronounce it correctly.
you have no idea how bad an accent is until you've heard a native Baltimorian speak. I call the accent BaltiMORON. Y'ant some, wudder, hon? translation: Would you like some water?
How an accent can bring you home: A few years back I was traveling outside the US, and on the return flight I lost my passport. So I was being questioned by the airport staff, since they couldn't let me back into the country without a US passport. After a while I was getting irritated and demanded to speak to whoever was in charge. Finally their boss comes up to me and asks: Are you from NY? Where do you live? I replied: "Yeah im from new york" and gave them my home address. Amazingly he actually believed me and gave me a few forms to sign and I was on my way. Later on I found out that the boss told one of his staff "Only a ny'er can have that accent...and that attitude" So it pays to have an accent ooh and its ra-ou-ter damnit! Bloomberg uk always catches me off-guard with that rooooter stuff
Sounds like a quote from Jeff Foxworthy, a southern US comedian that has a line of jokes "You might be a redneck if..." Yeet yet? Naw, y'aunt to? __ Did you eat yet? No, do you want to?
