    Im insanely aware of my poor taste in music

    Therefore generally when anyone comes close to me when im blaring out music i deliberately turn it down so im not sharing because it happens to be metal or some embarassing top 40 that i don't want anybody knowing i really like :)

    If any teacher did this to me they'd be buying me a new pair of headphones.

    OK, they shouldn't be listening to it, but cutting the lead is criminal damage surely.

    This is an awesome way to get your face stomped all over. Not really advise to give most people.

    My advise is simple and it usually works. Just tap them on the shoulder and politely ask them to turn it down. If you don't give them a reason to get the A-hole with you, they will almost always turn it down. However, if they don't then you can either, move or punch them in the face. But always try being polite first.
