    Hi all.
I have just built my very first system!!

    Mobo: gigabyte GA-p55m- ud2
    CPU: Core i5 750
    GPU: HIS 5770
    Ram: 4GB 1,600MHz DDR3
    HDD: Samsung F1 Spinpoint 1TB
    Monitor: Benq 2220 21.5inch
    PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W
    OS: Windows 7 64bit

My question is, if I want to gradually upgrade, spending about 150-200 each time (possibly able to do this only once or twice a year) what should I work on upgrading.

Should I get more RAM, say double up to 8GB. Should I improve my GPU, possibly with the GTX 460, or should I wait until I have enough money to upgrade to the i7 setup, with a new motherboard and more RAM being required.

I love my PC games, I do not do any encoding.

    Thoughts?

    J

Yeah, GPU seems like the obvious upgrade there. The i5 will do you for a long time and is a perfect gaming CPU. Someone will recommend getting a SSD, but if I was you I'd just save up for a great GPU and then sit back and enjoy the rig!

I would probably think about another harddrive for back ups.

GPU... but we all have different needs.
Some games are more CPU intensive than GPU (if you play games), and other the reverse.I say wait until you get to a point where something doesn't provide you with the best experience and asses the situation. You don't need more RAM, unless you plan to have big project in big programs minimized while you play a big game at the same time, and even then.
More RAM will be welcomed when games are in 64-bit flavor, where they can use more than the 2GB set limit per software by Windows 32-bit.

    Plan:

    1) Upgrade video card
    2) Upgrade PSU
    3) Get identical video card and sli/crossfire :D
    4) Get 25" monitor
    5) By now it's about time to get a whole new rig :D (assuming 1 upgrade a year)
