HDD space. 256GB isn't really enough for a gaming / video editing machine.

    Other than that...
    Keyboard
    Mouse
    Monitor
    OS

But maybe you have all these things already.

And personally I wouldn't go with a 4x4GB RAM arrangement. If you're heavily into video editing then a more future proof config may be better. (2 x 8GB)

Sorry, forgot to mention I'll be using a external storage solution for my video editing scratch disk, that SSD is only for boot and game installs.

As for the other stuff, yes I have these things :p

Finally for the RAM there are 8 slots on the X79 board so I will eventually put another 16 in.

Can I just ask why you are choosing the H110 over the H100i. Especially as you have the AX 860i. If you want to be able to digitally read everything, why not the cooler?

Also I agree with going with the 2 x 8GB for the RAM. (easier when OCing too).

Whoops! Yes I actually had decided on the 100i but still had the 110 in my basket, thanks for catching that one!

Right, get a 128GB SSD for Windows. 1-2TB HDD for games, music, videos etc. Only one game really benefits from a SSD, and thats BF3, so its pointless. :)

Keep with the 4x4GB kit so you can use the quad channel memory that the board supports. SKT 1155 only supports dual channel.

Also as suggested, H100i with that PSU. Other than that, it's looking like a solid build. :)

The main thing? Reliability. It has some pretty high end chokes, capacitors and the like. Also it has a 5 year warranty.

Please bear in mind I'm not exactly made of money, £100 is a reasonable amount of money. But I'm just trying to do this right!

Thanks for the input everyone, I am tweaking the setup as we speak.

Is the video editing software going to use the power that the Titan can offer?

If it's not then why not go for a SLI GTX 670 setup or a single GTX 680, or AMD 7970 as although they perform slower in games they will cost less and allow you to go for some more ram etc if needed.

Titan for future proofing surely? I can throw in another titan later on! Does this not make sense to do?

Depends really if you are going to use Video Editing software that will use the Titan and also if the games you play at the resolution will also need the card.

A Titan card whilst bring really good performance at the moment, they are quite expensive and unless you have something that requires that then they are just simply not worth it when you could, save money and get something cheaper that will do the job just fine for you.

Using X79, you may as well use the full potential of the bandwidth.

2x 4GB GTX 670's is faster and cheaper. They will be easier to shift later on when you upgrade too. :)

Eventually I will be using the full potential! But I agree the other option was to go for dual 680's or dual 690's...

690 is a bit of a no go being quad not dual, and I think seeing as the titan performance is close to that of two 680's why not just get the titan now and a second when my performance gets behind games! Maybe It's an expensive way of doing it but I am coming from owning a bloody macbook pro :p

No, GTX Titan is not as fast as 2 GTX 680's.

In my test's, 2 GTX Titans perform the same as my 3 GTX 670's. (Which OC and run faster than GTX 680's)

Don't do what others are doing, as 2GB on the GTX 670/680/(690's 2GB per GPU) are a real limitation.

My 3 GTX 670's OC'ed destroy most Quad SLI setups. See here for proof Clicky

And see here, why 2GB does not cut it. Clicky

Yeah my 2Gb GTX 680's are starting to show the strain of playing the latest games at 1080p, to the point where I am using up to 1.95Gb of Vram just playing Crysis 3 or Battlefield 3.

Hence why my next cards will have more than 2Gb.
