Merry Xmas to you too!! I still think this looks kind of like a street racing themed case My compliments, it's still getting better!
Gracias! Ya es hora de que el mundo conozca a Espana! Mmmm... maybe for the next time... hehe... When you`ll see the front maybe change your opinion to Armored transport vehicle instead street racing car, or not... XDD THX
I'm loving this case so far. Being a fan of GITS, I can appreciate the whole look. Keep up the good work .
Nice work. I love the white plastic. (BTW, with the little Spanish I know, I could only make out "It's about time that the world knows Spain." :\)
THX Correct!. In spain modding is still a new fashion for some people and usually we import a lot of ideas, pics, mods for UK, USA, Korea, Germany, Australia... Etc... But usually, maybe for english (most of the new modders are teenagers with big ego and poor english) we don`t post our mods in other forums. The other spanish modder says to me something like (trying to translate...) "show them how high spanish modders can reach!".
XMas Update... With most of the case finished (or almost) i began to mod the front. Cutting off the useless plastic parts to allow more incoming air to the front fan. For power button i instaled a keylock. The only thing needed is to enlarge the bottom of the hole and fix the lock with epoxy (or similar) A decorative piece of ALU was cutted to cover the now useless leds holes. As futuristic hinges, two very modded car tunning lights, fixed with M4 Allen head screws. Later i`ll fix their heads to the finished door... The door, as the rest of case was covered with folded ALU, and the inner face covered with vinyl. While i was shaping the ALU, temporally i fixed it with screws. The hole in the moddle is a mark for the door lock hole. The inner face with vinyl. The finished door, includes some features. Holes to pass through wires of micro and headphones if needed. The door lock. The background hole was silver painted before fixing the ALU. The finished light hinges. The door get its "titanium" cover after sand the ALU and apply two (4) coats of bi-coat transprent barnish Duplicolor (here is sold for cars). Once the ALU cover was finished, was fixed with rivets instead screws to give to it a more solid look. The door fitting test. You can see the green PCB from the webcam in the middle. Also, the Dexxa webcam once dismantled. You`ll see the two round halves later.
Thanks for the coments. Continue... With the front lower part Folding the ALU to fit the plastic front... Then marking and cutting the ALU... The lines marks the window for the webcam and lights and remember the original one in the Sonata. once cutted the AlU and plastic cover fits very well. originally i`m gone to use 2 rectangular tri-led holder with 3 UV 5mm led each. That is there are 2 cuts bottom and top of the main window. The round ones are for other led holders. The almost finished front... Only left some details... The great problem of the webcams is the ambient light. I put 6 white leds and 4 UV to increase the light to increase the light around the webcam. Now the cam (with limits) can record images with near objets without light. Well, the tri-led holder didn`t fit well, and i`d to replace one of the UV leds for one in white, so i desmantled it and covered the hole with bright ALU. Also you can see the piece of plexy to avoid fingerprints in the cam`s objetive (You know (actual events): "Whoa! Where`s the cam?" "There..." "Here?" while putting fingers in the cam.....) In the second pic, the wiring mess for the leds. The leds are soldered in pairs and trios (with the appropiate resistors) and all connect to a single molex plug. I`ve been thinking, and probably i`ll remake better this lower par in some days. Taking care especially in the shape for the webcam window to aproximate it more to the original in the Sonata (with Chamber shape). What do you think?? Note: You`ll probably note the angled position of the webcam (a little only) instead face towards the front directly. This is because usually a person don`t look the case front bending (at the same heigh of the cam).
THX. Scrape=scratch?? No. At least nothing visible or important after cleaning the case. If you say that for the third picture above, that white scratch is a rest of the vinyl cover cuts.
Updating... The bays: The first job in the workzone of the bays was painting in mate black the front of the LGA4082B DVD-RW and an extra face plate. With this Akasa Fan Mate Jr. i created my own modded baybus for a 5 1/4 bay. Disoldering the (for me) useless USB port. And cutting a little the PCB. THe PCB and the cutted front plate. I used this piece of ALU to support the PCB and as template to drilling holes for the pots knobs. Fixing the holder with M4 screws. Near, the compunurse probe for the case ambient temp. The compunurse dismantled and painted in bright black. Fixed in the face plate. Once the fitting test was done, i painted all (face plate and PCB holder) in black mate. The new modded baybus once mounted. I painted the black dot in the knobs and put little holes tu mark the maximum point. And etched letter for each channel. I dislike a little the finishig of the letters, so i`m thinking in repair it of some way. And maybe i`ll change the knobs if i find something better. THX for your coments and suppport. More pics soon!
i wish I had seen this case before now, its amazing, and i love the simplicity of it. i love how the entirty of it flows so well together and how the metal looks so simple and clean. one of my favorite mods at the time, GOOD JOB!
Thanks! Are you thinking in make a Gantz Manga themed case?? Great Manga... mmm maybe a a black ball for your room? hehehe
