Man - sorry to hear about the divorce.

My boiler just had the same issue, but it was the expansion vessel and the PRV. Quick to sort though. If you were in London, I'd pass over details of the chap that helped me out!

After a couple of trials, I have to say DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!
Its output, even at 1280x720 is absolute fish-o-vision - the optics really are that terrible. :duh:
    This thing is going back.

Expansion vessel too? Hmm... I wonder.. did your boiler work okay, as long as it was doing something? Mine's okay (well, apart from an E168 code) when it's working, but once the CH has got up to temp and switches the pump off, the pressure slowly drops (causing E119 error). I can hear what sounds like a slight hiss, which I thought was air (so screwed the AAV in, no change), but I had a look at the drain pipe for the pressure relief valve outside and there was a fair bit of water that had come out. I hope it's not the expansion vessel too :(

Divorce - meh, no surprise tbh, particularly the last year or so we were together. It's just the cost of it!

I can recommend the GT300W, great image quality.

I paid a lot more for mine just a couple months ago, but it's for sale here for just $70.

Shame. Have a look in this epic PH thread about dashcams. Lots of options out there, depending on budget. :)

Ugh, I looked in to DashCams and got horrifically confused - further compounded by the fact I would want one internally wired (or two in fact, one for the rear). Argh.

Me too! There doesn't seem to be a definitive conclusion that I could trust anywhere, which is a pain in the arse because these things are mostly un- or unknown-branded, so I have not much or nothing at all to guide me.

    Help!

Exactly, or the brands that do exist are horrifically expensive (I'm talking £300 here for a single camera). I wish they came as options when you bought a car :/

Mine doesn't give fancy 'E' codes (it's a bit old), but the reason the water was p*ssing out of the overflow outside was that the diaphragm in the expansion vessel was ruptured, so the whole chamber was filling up with water. This causes the pressure to get too high, and causes water to be ejected out of the overflow.

It might actually not be the PRV but the expansion vessel itself. The symptoms sound identical to mine. Bl**dy boilers...

Budget not a problem at the moment, so whilst you guys were posting, I ran out to Argos for a GoPro.

Turns out they do an "exclusive" bundle with several free accessories.

£300 got me the GoPro Hero3 Black with WiFi remote.
    The bundle included:-

    An extra battery (worth £20)
    "The Frame" (worth £40)
    Suction cup mount (worth £30)

But I read the GoPro, although having fantastic video, isn't a good dash cam due to size/bulk and its inability to be wired to the ignition (and operate automatically when the ignition is on). However, if you can correct this, feel free!

gp3 hero is an ace camera asside from its size you cant argue with the results. tho they are tempting targets for scumbags. a friend had 2 for his drift car after a days use both got nicked within seconds

Re: Dash cams- for the love of smeg people, go to youtube and look up Techmoan- the guy reviews dash cams for a past time and does an excellent job, no need to search the web and get random opinions with no real facts regards real world performance...

His range of dashcams are quite limited though.

I'm surprised noone has mentioned dashcamtalk, that is where I spent a lot of time before purchasing my GT300W, and the Mini 0801 that Techmoan later reviewed (which whilst good, and design is probably the best, especially the mount, the GT300W image quality is much, much clearer.). There are plenty of actual files to download from dashcamtalk users - not just YouTube clips, so you can compare video files directly, see their true bitrate etc.

Car is leased, so no wiring mods.
GoPro is only 20x40x60mm naked, and came with wifi remote. There's an app now too, so one of those should work nicely.
Another point it scores over the truly awful Vivitar, is the ability to record when charging via USB.
In any case, I won't be leaving it in the car when parked!

bit miffed but but my nuc started to have issues, running linux since i got it but past month it would just hang or screen would go black. rebooting stated the intel msata drive was not detected unless left to cool for an hour. intel support forums peeps with same problem suggested running fan at max or switching to the silverstone case:duh:

nice case simple to install, but as the fan is pointing down wards fliping it upside down it runs more cooler and the case which is the heatsink feels less warm.:eyebrow:
