Microsoft updated the X-box controller when they released the X-box One-S to also support Bluetooth for PC connectivity.

Just be careful that you a 3rd gen joypad (1st gen no 3mm headphone jack, 2nd gen adds a 3mm headphone jack and 3rd gen adds bluetooth support).

I did not buy it for its thermal properties. I bought it purely because the existing black backplate looked out of place in my blue and white themed build and this looks good.

Ah, thank you, now it makes perfect sense !

I have a rev 1 I am damn near sure of it, as I bought it before the console was even out IIRC. I got it like the first day it was available.

So that's me screwed without a £25 adapter and set of rechargeable batteries.

Not much for me this month. Lady's birthday is tomorrow (yeah, I've already done the "you're not getting anything... April fools !") so that cost me a few quid. I am now officially saving money (you heard it here first) and so on. So any way, I bought my regular vaping supplies (for like two to three months because of a sale I found) and a used NAS from here.

This thing launched a couple of months ago.

For £50. However, it's pretty clear who they stole their design from so shortly afterward the case vanished from all retailers. I was poking around on OCUK B grade earlier and noticed it was £19.99 with free DPD, so I grabbed it. My aim is to do a nice cheap mod (using some really nice fans I have) to rebox the NAS to give it better (and quieter) cooling. I have heard all sorts of horror stories about the NAS I bought being very loud and obnoxious. Obviously I will mod it. I don't think I dig the window either so I will probably repaint both side panels either silver or black.

I got a switch for £6.50 inc on Amazon down from a tenner.

    Couple of cables.

And my rotary tool will be coming out of retirement for a bit :)

I hope that photo is a render, 'cos it's missing some pins there...

No pins missing: that there's a 10/100 switch, and has all the pins it needs; the remainder are only required on gigabit switches.

Is that a 2240-sized one? That's all my mobo will take because it fits in a stupidly-sited daughter board.

    Also, sauce?

It is indeed a 2240 - this one is a Mydigital, but there are a few other manufacturers making them in sensible sizes (up to 512GB) as well, such as Transcend and Adata.

I've had the enclosure on preorder from Amazon for a while, and it turned up this morning.

I wish it were a smidge shorter, but there's no empty space on the board inside, so I guess it's this long for a reason. It's a really nice enclosure though, feels lovely and solid. It's sitting on my desk and I can't help but pick it up and fondle it (ooh err)

My acrylics suddenly have the dreaded paint rot, they still hold colour but my God the smell.

New paints time, plus a new inking brush since I've been using the same one for fifteen years...

Not me, honest. My pen wouldn't have necessarily given a standard reference, so I pulled one out of the drawer that I've never used. I'm a rollerball man myself.

No banana for scale. How am I supposed to judge size without a banana?
