Power tools. Lidl did their first drop (in what feels like years!) of more than just a couple of their cordless tools yesterday, so I added to the 4 I already had.
    • Multitool
    • Jigsaw
    • 3-in-1 Impact driver
    • Heat gun
    • Angle grinder
    • Brush cutter
Plus a couple of 4Ah batteries, a dual charger and an assortment of accessories for the power tools.
TIL - If you spend over £300 at Lidl, the checkout operator has to call the store manager for authorisation.

Leaving the gas disconnected ought to reduce your running costs!

Very true. Once all the gas is hooked up, our costs should be lower anyway. The plumber was doing a leakdown test on the gas pressure on the first day just to check that there was enough and found a pretty substantial leak somewhere. Got it narrowed down as far as he could and it is in the old steel pipe somewhere underneath the house. No chance of getting to that as it is under the concrete floor slab so he's running a new pipe around the back for teh boiler (now moved upstairs) and also coming down off that for the cooker, completely getting rid of the old pipe system. Should notice a drop in gas usage and everything should have better pressure too.

Getting everything finished off today and then he'll be back in a week to finish flushing the system. Been very impressed with what he has done so far.

As a reward for getting his predicted grades and therefore the placement offer, I just bought my son a Dell XPS 13 9315, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD. Gonna get him a USB-C dock (the XPS only comes with 2 USB-C ports!) and a copy of Office 2021 Home & Business (he wants Outlook). Need to shop around for those first.

Finally biting the bullet and replacing my "proper" hifi with something more discreet - so a couple of these in-ceilings (Dynaudio S4-C80) for starters...

A 2TB WD Green SN350 SSD to go into the USB-C hub I got for my laptop a while back.
The previous 1TB WD Black 850 has been moved to my main rig's motherboard.
