Don't you get them free from GP, I always have, I assumed that everybody did?

Perhaps it's an age or health related thing that makes me a liability?

It is indeed an age or health thing: over 65 or with one of a number of chronic health conditions (or a few other cases, like being pregnant, in long-term residential care, care for or live with someone with a chronic illness, or a front-line medical worker), otherwise you pay.
Oof. Got to admit, at £16 I might have thought twice.

At least the kids get theirs free through school!

I have a free Flu jab booked in 3 weeks at the doctor's surgery, but declined Corona jab 4 at the same time. That's the only day they will have stock, so I'll look elsewhere.
I've heard the new one can give more reaction. I'll see if the local pharmacy can do something sensible, apparently I need to book by ringing 119

    They didn't accept returns.
I never asked when booking assuming it would be largely in line with what it's always been. And you know what they say about that.

Ah yes, just looked and I hit a number of check points, did not realize, thought it was just like the Covid jabs and given to all and sundry. It is also provided free at work, same for the missus workplace, so thought it was a just one of those things, live and learn :D

'cos I'm suggesting Our Glorious Leaders foot the bill, like they did with the 'rona vaccines.

And like they were doing with the monkeypox vaccines, too, until Coffey got put in charge and decided to stop buying 'em because they're not "value for money" and definitely nothing to do with being an extremely homophobic right-wing religious type who perhaps thinks it's something only The Gays need to worry about...

And as if by magic a letter drops through my door the very next day.
I'll be buggered if I'm having the offered covid booster though

Yep, checked it out and I hit quite a few checkpoints in the free vaccine qualification bingo game (not really one you want to win :D) as a fat (high bmi, diabetes, high blood pressure) spastic (cerebal palsy, spina bifida) with kidney disease, house! :D

I just never put two and two together.

I recently had to debate a new hoover.

We had 2, a shark where the floor head failed, and a cheapo from asda, wifes hair kept jamming the roller, wasnt removable so was like a whole tear down, after doing that 3 times for 1 room it went on fire. So i had to debate paying the 80 quid to shark for a new floor head or buying a new hoover. Decided on the floor head instead of new cheapo hoover, the shark one we have is like a rocket duo which was built for pet hair.
