From memory, I believe that's how Arachnophobia starts, and it ends with a fight-out in the wine cellar ;)

Just treated myself to a Samsung SM2043NW for working on - it's certainly freed up a massive amount of desk space compared to my 21" CRT!

Not the best monitor, but for £100, a temporary gain of 14" of desk depth is definitely worth it!

    Thanks HSBC! :D

Not strictly "purchases, although they weren't exactly presents either....

In work, the display manager was moving a metal table out from the back of the stock-room, to near enough the front of the shop. She managed to get it to the door but got stuck. I finished up serving my customer, and ran over to help. We turned it on edge, she let go without warning me, causing me to lose my grip and it landed on its side, on my big toe. It is now red, and swollen.

Later on that day, I was called to move a big Fred Perry stand from the back of a section to the front, because we'd had almost a whole line of shirts stolen off it. This stand is made of glass, metal, and wood, and generally very heavy. It took 4 of us to move it, and we basically had to walk it towards the front of the shop, it nearly got the managers toe, it got the same toe that the metal table got, and it got my friends big toe. He instantly jumped back lay back on the floor and rocked back and forth in "agony" whilst I stood there and said "For ****'s sake, twice in the same day..." and skulked off out the back to make sure my toe wasn't broken.

If this is karma, there better be a payoff pretty damned soon, otherwise I'm gonna go nuts.

    Joe

A Wii for Mum (That's her Christmas pressie sorted out)
Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles on DVD (£15) and Universe at War (PC) for £1 in Tesco. Can't actually play it yet (Graphics Card isn't up to snuff) but thought it was worth a quid and I'll play it when I finally upgrade.

Lovely phone, but I'd reccomend you use Diamond Tweak to get it up to a proper speed

I've flashed it with a cooked ROM from the XDA Developers forum which has all the registry tweaks and suchlike set up by default so it's fairly smooth. The Jam did everything I wanted really, it was just a bit too much of a brick when it was in a case, but everything is much nicer in VGA and the built-in GPS is even better than my Sirf III Bluetooth one :) Very pleased!

The only thing that annoys me is that lack of focus on the camera, it's really bad, and no anti-shake

Nice one! I've been stocking up on tools recently. Got a bunch of cheap crap from HF, and am not all that pleased with it... (pics and details in project log.)
Gotta get some more sleeving and other modding supplies.

Got a nice surprise bonus on Friday, so may be shopping soon, but the way I'm feeling about the economy I'll probably bank most of it. Then again, I'll be checking out the after xmas sales. :D

Oh yeah, not a purchase, but my brother gave me a 250gb external drive. This was after I bought a 1TB external drive a couple weeks ago. (he didn't know.)
