    The buttons all light up when powering on the monitor. But once the monitor is on and displaying the image from my PC, none of the buttons except the exit button get a reaction. When you press the exit button, the 'locked' padlock appears on the screen for about three seconds and then disappears.

    Advice on the Dell Support site is: Press and hold down the OSD Menu button for about 10-15 seconds. Nothing happens and the padlock icon will reappear.

    Tried this:
    * Power off the PC
    * Power off the monitor
    * Disconnect the power cord from the monitor
    * Disconnect all monitor cords from the PC (USB, DVI, VGA, DisplayPort, HDMI, etc.)
    * While disconnected, press and hold the monitor power button down for 5 seconds
    * Reconnect the DVI cord to the monitor and to the PC video card
    * Reconnect the power cord to the monitor
    * Power on the monitor if it does not power on by itself
    * Power on the PC
    * Press the monitor Input Source Select.

    Nothing.

    Anyone got anything else?

    As it happened unlocking it did not solve the problem I am having. It was a slim chance anyway.

    1 - Press and hold the MENU button for 15 seconds (first one, right above the power button)
    2- Wait for the UNLOCK icon appears on the screen.
    3- Release the MENU button and wait 5 seconds.
    Now you can access it.

    If that fails, turn off the monitor, unplug it from the wall, wait 30sec, and plug it back in.
