So, I bought a key switch, and it's not doing what I want it to do. When I do not put the key in and turn it, it is in the connected position. When I put the key in and turn it, it is in the 'kill circuit' position. At this point the key is locked in and wont come out until I turn it back to the 'connected' position.

Now, what I need to do is to wire it so it reverses the switch so that the opposite happens (so that key turned will be 'connect' and key out would be 'kill'). This is to arm and disarm the power button to my PC.

On the back of the switch there are 2 solder points.

Any idea how I would achieve this?

With only two tags (ie, single-pole, single-way) you can't wire it any different; only thing possible is to use that switch to operate a relay change-over switch.

yeah youd have to program something or use a relay. Probably cheaper to buy a new switch.

You could wire it in parallel with whatever you're turning on.

If you got a 5v power supply you could use a TTL 7404 IC which is a hex inverter and get the signal from the switch through that to give you the opposite

I don't really want to mess with relays. Would what Ending Credits says work?

Perfectly, for the tenth of a second or so before the fuse in your power supply blew. The easiest thing for you to do would be to buy a new switch, making sure it works the way you want.
