Here is an article by Tomshardware reviewing graphics card performance. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/battlefield-3-graphics-performance,review-32308.html
53.77 fps on 560Ti on High settings at 1080. Sounds about right. Once u get online on some big maps u may get a lot lower. Is it just me or is the tom's hardware layout annoying to read. It's just like page after page of text. Then again maybe not... http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/holiday-gift-hardware-computer,review-32337-2.html I find the pics appealing.
Bit tech also has a article on bf3 hardware perforamance. A 560ti or 6950 is probably your best option
On ultra settings at 1080p there is no single GPU that will run at 60 fps in all circumstances currently. Dual GPU cards (590 etc) maybe. For 30 fps with those settings a 580 or maybe a 570 will do but 30 fps in a shooter is a bit meh edit: 30 fps minimum that is
I get 50-60 fps in BF3 with the MSI 6950 @ Ultra, apart from SSAO instead of HBAO and MSAA turned off. I see bugger all difference with those settings, but it's a big FPS gain
Yeah I get that, but its like I have OCD or something. When I spend £1200 + on a box for playing games I want the best visuals. I hate compromising
A 560 would be sufficient on high at 1080p. There is very little difference between high and ultra, so you won't be missing anything.
Right now my single GTX 570 none OC'd and just the standard nVidia release runs around around 55-60 fps on high. No issues running BF3 at all and I play every night of the week lol But thats £200+ for a GPU!
For 50 - 60 fps with all the eye candy on you need a GTX570 or GTX580. Or wait and see what the AMD 7900 series brings in a few days. If your willing to turn down the eye candy a GTX560Ti is the absolute minimum I would go.
560ti? I play on low graphics at 1680x1050 smooth no problems with a 5770 1gb. Bit tech over-speccing as usual... Sent from Bittech Android app
I played it at ultra settings 1920x1200 with my 470 @ stock and it was amazing. Did plenty tests after getting my 460 and the overclocked 460 (900MHz) actually outperformed the stock 470. It seems to me that people have gotten so hung up on frame rates that they have altogether forgotten how to simply play a game and enjoy it. I'm sure Metro was running about 25fps most of the time, but did I care? It looked amazing...
I wanted the most low powered and cheapest card really, not super high end My mates gone for a GTX260 as that'll do him till he can afford a better card
You needed to clarify what you meant by minimum, as it is all relative and each individual will have their own acceptable minimum based on price and performance. I used to run bf3 on a GTX280 with settings turned down. But frame rates dipped close to 25. Also card only DX10. My game play has definitely improved though now I get 50+ FPS.
