Just seen this mini jigsaw coming up at Lidl from Sunday.

It says it cuts up to 3mm non ferrous metal - any good for alu panels?

Tiny shi/t proprietary blades. I'd rather have a cheap -but still beefier than that thing- jigsaw that 50+ companies make blades for.

Here's one for £2 more that cuts up to 8mm in alu and 6mm in steel.

Thanks fellas, it seemed a good idea for about 5 seconds! A small and more manoeuverable jigsaw would be a great tool in between a Dremel and full jigsaw, but it can't cut ferrous and as Cheaps pointed out, it proprietary.

The Proxxon STS 12/E is a decent small jigsaw, although not exactly cheap. Not sure how it will cope with aluminium though.

Thanks, Nexxo. Had a quick look, and it says "non-ferrous metal (up to 2.5mm)"...
I was hoping for something small and manoeverable for cutting steel panels or mobo trays.
I'll stick to my jigsaw and multi tool, as nothing else (affordable) seems to better them.
    Thank you all
