    anyone know of one? an o.s dedicated to running new and old p.c games from win 95 to win7 with all versions of DirectX and other video drivers? doom is such an ass to run on vista home 32bit :wallbash: ,so is swat 3 and GTA 2,i miss the classics :grr:

    Nope.
    But it's something called virtualization, which allows you to run any OS above another OS.
    Virtual Box is a solution (you need a license of each Windows you want to install), as for DOS games, you can use DOSBox (free - DOS emulator)

    I've got GTA II running fine on my machine, are you using an original copy? Rockstar re-released it for free on their website, optimised to run on newer pcs.

    I'm assuming you know about compatibility modes? They usually work, and if not there are often work arounds. And if worst comes to worst, like the other person said, you could setup a virtual machine and install Win 95 or Win 98 on it. If it's around that era, it will work on that, and if it's newer, then it should work on Win 7 or Vista anyway.

    I don't think compatibility mode has ever solved a problem for me.

    It works quite well on W7 I find. But it has never worked for me on any previous windows OS...

    i used VM workshop and i installed winME,the crap it had popping up,it couldn't find drivers for my hardware or even use the internet.

    yep i tryed the downloadable version as well as my original copy,i use to work but it wont anymore,tho i've used system restore since then so it might work.
