Anybody bother playing ProStreet with a 900-degree wheel and 3-pedal H-pattern shifter? It's not so rubbish after all.

Got undercover today, delivery speed of game Cheesecake:rock:

Sadly thats the only positive thing about it.

    Where should I start?

Car handling? It's more like Train Simulator, almost impossible to not drive perfect, more arcadish than ever.

Damage model? whats that? sure, if you crash with top speed full frontal in a wall the car is destroyed, but other than that? nothing.

Graphics? Like NFS tradition mandates, the cars look good, the environment however is lacking, besides, even the cars could look better.
While we are at it, the game is not optimized at all, even Crysis runs better on my pc than NFS Undercover. Have you ever seen stuttering on a loading screen? NFS undercover does it all the time.
And when I'm allready ranting about the loading screens, you woudnt believe how often you will look at one, it's annoying.

Story? Every few races you get a shortish video (done with real actors (actually its more humans pretending to be actors)), the video sequences should be longer and actually tell some story, but I can forgive that flaw as I dont buy a racing game for the story.

A.I.? the opponents have the intellectual level of a toilet brush, for example there is a mode called outrun, stay ahead of opponent for 1 minute to win, they not only loose because they drive slow, but they actually fail to drive in the same direction as you.

Last but not least, the menu is as usual dumbed down for consoles and doesnt like being used with a mouse.

NFS Undercover sucks, sorry guys, I wish I had better news and so I award it
    :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash: out of 10 :wallbash:'s.

and i don't like the fact they've made police cars heavier, it was the best thing in Most Wanted, where road blocks and police chases is about taking out 20 polices, now, you HAVE to use the pursuit breakers, road blocks are very hard to destroy a police car.

come on EA, give us Most Wanted 2

IGN gave it 4 out of 10. That's saying something.

Funniest thing is what they found about the performance of the game on the ps3.
I've noticed that it runs like crap on my relatively fast pc (3,7Ghz Q9550, 8GB DDR2 6400 C4, Radeon 4870, x4 500GB Samsung F1 in Raid 10), but I just assumed its the usual poor optimization on the pc in favour of consoles, however the game doesnt run properly on the ps3 either according to ign.

We've already GOT Race Driver GRID, Forza and GT5, so every tarmac racing game from now on is just water under the bridge. I almost wish they'd just try something new, instead of repeating the same formula - I mean really, racing games could come out of a cookie cutter for all the originality they exhibit, couldn't they?
Props to, for example, Burnout for attempting to do something different with the concept. And GRID's damage model is nothing short of joyful.

I'm sure it's probably better with a wheel, but on a joypad the handling sucks. It's difficult to tell where your car is going. Saying that, it took away a couple of hours as I cruised around, outrunning the police, yesterday. It's just a shame it feels so irksome to drive around. The motorway dash where you've got to keep in front of the opponent would be difficult enough without the amount of traffic in the way.

I think the interfaces are always the biggest obstacle to overcome with motorsport/sim games. Moto GP 08, for example (demo) seems like an amazing simulator, but controlling a bike through a keyboard or gamepad just feels wrong.
