NFS:U2 was the last NFS that I enjoyed from memory. It's not quite as impressive as the HL2 remix, but I thought it was still pretty good.

I don't remember liking Most Wanted, I think I just went back to U2 tbh. Can't remember why though. I did buy the remake of Hot Pursuit (not the recent remaster) and thought it was ok but it just didn't grab me.
Most wanted was "ok", but not a scratch on U2. Especially the tuning side. I had a rx8 that was set up like a pikes peak special. Wasn't the fastest in a straight line, but the handling was just And I was on a keyboard at the time too!
Googling NFSU2 since i couldn't find it on EA seems to suggest it's abandonware now, and amongst my searching this came up. I think I'd be happy playing that, it won't win beauty contests, but it looks good enough from what I can tell. Might give it a whirl.
