Intel recommends a maximum of 1.5V, but most people say 1.65V is perfectly safe, 1.7V is pushing things without some form of active cooling.
Thanks Corky. I have been reading up on it and I might opt for a different 1.5v RAM. I've looked at http://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-...4900-(1866)-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-9-10-9-27- and it seems like a decent replacement. Or is http://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-...1866)-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-9-10-9-27-dhx-xm any better for the extra money?
I'd probably go for the low profile stuff like this personally, just to rule out any issues with height in the future. When I bought my second set ram I went low profile so I wasn't restricted like I was using my GSkill RipJaws.
