Modding New custom built case project for my pc- need a name!!!! starting soon

I have always liked the modular look. This is clean. We all know how BaddAssumption turned out with it's modular look. I'm not real keen on the cantilever/hooked up on one side piece for the DVD. Looks like it wants to fall over. Maybe some sort of thinner but strong support so it looks floating for #3.
My 2 cents for what that is still worth in the US

thanks for the input i think i will move it into the middle with some clear acrylic struts.

and yes dutchcedar was a great inspiration for this

 

i would take your third scketchup and combined cheapskate and my idea, for support and a cool look fo a nice clean case.

 

i am in the process of trying something out i will post it once im done

forgot to say the green around the case will be acrylic and the black on the cases is paint so i will paint the case then mount acrylic on top

I still say go with round brackets. It will give you more variety shape-wise. I guess what i'm saying is specific parts should have a consistent theme. -Round layered brackets, rounded case holes and windows, and hexagonal case boxes. (preachy little sh*t, aren't I?)

Anyway... I like it. get building!

 

Thanks cheapskate i think i like the brackets with the more industrial feel to them but the windows have had the corners rounded off to make them less boxy

i like the new brackets for the sketchup along with the rails you put on. my only concern is that you should use screws and not plastic adhesive. the screws would be much easier to go ith and beable to support that drive and not cause it to break. like the new sketchup cant wait it until its in your project logs!

the black and green bits of acrylic will be glued together but they will be joined to parts using 4 m4 bolts on either end of each of them.

I don't really like the rail that the DVD sits on now.

How about placing the rad segment on top (where the DVD is now), roughly at the same width as the mobo segment. You could use the four smaller segments to complete a big circle. It would be cool to have the water actually go in a circle like that

 

the rails that the dvd are on will be clear acrylis so it wont be too noticeable really.

it's just that i don't really like anything sitting there... It blocks the nice top-down view into the mobo box, and it disrupts the hexagonal layout you have going on with the rest of the design.

Ah well, i'll just be short and say i don't like it, and it would be a shame of an otherwise awesome design. I have horrible taste though, so don't listen to me

 

lol hmmm well i will play around with it tomorrow and see what i can come up with.

 

Ok guys well i want to add a pico itx system to the works aswell so i came up with this...

Oh and i have decided to have those brackets that the cd and pico itx system are on i am gunna have hinges on the side with the hdd and psu and then just a support on the other side.

 

The only problem i really see with that case is a small little thing that you may have put there, but i would probably change it to match the rest.



I think it would look better if that greem line didn't box in the corner like i circled and just let the bottom and the side meet.

Looking good, Suggestion tho - How about if you made ALL the mounts out of clear acrylic and not just the dvd one? Would look pretty sweet then if you ask me.
And taking out that corner section has improved the all round aesthetics all round
